One of my coworkers took her dog to the vet today and they found out she has pyometra. My coworker was in tears because they quoted her $3,000 for the surgery. She called around to vets and the cheapest she found for a vet to do the surgery was around $1,000. There is no way she can afford it and she even tried to see if the vets would do payment plans with her, but she was denied. This dog has been through SO much with her and she was completely devastated thinking her only affordable option would be to put her to sleep. She was going to have her put to sleep yesterday but this morning said she just couldn't bring herself to do it yet.

My boss heard about was going on and had the dog's surgery scheduled and paid for it herself since my coworker couldn't afford it.

My boss and I might not always see eye to eye on dog training, etc... But this just proved to me how wonderful she is and how big her heart is.

I'm SO glad that my coworker and friend will get to spend a LOT more time with her dog. She came out of surgery and is expected to recover well.

Wow, that's so awesome! :) Definitely an amazing boss... it's great to work in the dog industry especially when you work with other true dog lovers.

I wish my boss would even offer to help like that. Actually, I've bailed her out more times than I can count, with funds and with fostering. *le sigh*

It is truly heart warming that there are people out there who, when they're able, help someone else in need. What a charitable thing to do. It is wonderful that she will get more time with her dog and the dog will feel better now.
