Madison: It was one of my favorite names at the time.

Rylie: Again, one of my favorite names. I love human names for dogs, so we stuck with that.

Chloe: We didn't really pick the name... she came with it, and it stuck.

Spanky - He's my little Rascal. Get it.... Little Rascals.... Spanky.:lol-sign: No one gets it. People alway say how it's such a dumb name. I'm like SHEESH! Only dog I've ever named. Lighten up I'm new at it. All the others were named by other people. Don't make fun at my bad naming skills. Plus I like it. It's been a year and a half and I still enjoy the name. I called him Swish the first two days I had him. Didn't really enjoy it. He was too much of a trouble maker. Not to mention Swish sounded like Swiss to me and I really did not want people to nickname him Cheese.
My dog's name is Spanky, too. We got him in the a couple of weeks after a vacation that my kids had watched the Little Rascals. One of my sons named him.

My daughter absolutely hated the name. For awhile, she said she wasn't going to call him such a dumb name. She seems to have forgotten than now!

Most people who meet him seem to love the name and think it fits him. It does fit his cheery, mischievous, love-everthing and everybody self. However, Alfalfa would have probably fit him better since his hair goes everywhere, and there's some on top of his head that sticks straight up!!

We considered Alfalfa, but we didn't want Alfie. My daughter wanted Rascal. She really wanted a few others like Tucker, but going with the theme she picked Rascal. He came with the name Rebel. That kind of fits his character, too!!

Zeus---When we got him from the humane society, his foster mom had named him "Dudley". That horrid name had to go! Our previous dog was named Odin, so we decided to name our new dog Zeus. He was such a handsome boy, it seemed to fit.

Voodoo--He's my little Chaz-baby! I found him while I was a Chaz member. I wanted the name of a god to keep with our theme, and Chazzers made suggestions. Hubby and I were sitting outside with him and trying out all the names that had been suggested. Our new puppy didn't respond to any of them. Finally, I said "Let's try the deities of voodoo," and my little Chaos Demon finally perked up! I repeated, "Voodoo," and he got all wiggly and happy. So he became Voodoo.

Meg was originally Spice; I hated the name, but decided to stick with the theme. She went from Nutmeg to Meggie to Meg in about a week. Meg stuck.

When we found Gracie on petfinder she was already named, Maggie (my 4 yr old) didn't want to change it. Sometimes I wish we wolud have because for awhile (sometimes still) we get Gracie and Cadie's (my 18 month old daughter) names mixed up. Gracie's middle name is Lou (all my dogs have had middle names) just because it sounded good.

I thought of Eve because in her puppy photos that her breeder sent, she looked like an elegant, feminine, fresh, dark little creature and of the list of names I sent to her breeder for opinions, Denise thought "Eve" fit the best. After bringing her home I couldn't agree more with her.

Dakota, honestly I just liked the name. I wanted something that sounded rugged but not butchy, that would fit his personality.

Dash's name ties into her registered name, Adventure's Zero to Sixty. I wanted to name her Dawn, but dad liked Dash and she's his dog, so.. whatever. :D My next dog will be Dawn if it's a female.

well MY SON ( WHO is NOT STUPID AND UNCREATIVE) named our dogs ;)

Thunder- ( AKA FUNDERBUTT)because he everytime he comes in the house he sounds like thunder rolling in. that and when he scratches his ears the whole bed/floor or whatever he is sitting on rumbles really fast and hard LOL..

Cinni- was named that because of the color her fur, she is really a soft brown with little white here and there.

so we have stuck with them... now, what about people's OTHER pets LOL... my gosh that would take me forever. to date we have 20 pets now.

Maggie May- was named after the Rod Stewart song.

Tucker was named after the dog in the book "The Trouble With Tuck".

Tarantino/Tino- named after Quentin Tarantino Jesse's favorite director/actor person.

Badger- Lol I have no idea I guess he kinda looks like a little badger/wolf/fox. He's a Lundehund.

I thought about naming him Apollo, but i wanted to save that for a future kid, so i used Milo (my second favorite name). He's partially named after the Venus de Milo and partially named after Liv Tyler's son (well that's where i first heard the name). He just looks like a Milo. everyone thinks it's after Milo and Otis, but it's not.

My poodle's name was Smokey Bubba Bear, I was 10 when I got him and I wanted to name him Bubba. My mom named him Smokey and then we added Bear. For awhile we had a color theme, we had a mini shnauzer named Pepper and a pomeranian named Buffy. When my mom got her white GSD my dad wanted to name her Molly because they used to have a mixed breed named Holly. I named her Angel because her white fur looked like a cloud.

Pepe had his name already...but I think it fits him wel...

Flicka's name was originally Lilly (which does not fit her at ALL)...but I didn't want to have a Lilly and a Lillian, that had to go - she didn't know it anyways. I had just read My Friend Flicka...and since the reason I went looking for a golden in the first place was because of the companionship...it just seemed to fit...

Lorelei's registered name was Siren's Song...In mythology, Lorelei was a siren who lured sailors to their deaths with her beautiful voice...

Matt got Tigger and Rover from a shelter, and he named them. He didn't want names that "went together"...and he said he always wanted a dog named Rover. And Tigger was very...bouncy...as a young dog, so...

Yes, that's how creative he is.

Well we have a hockey theme with our dogs....

Teddy was named after a goaltender jose Theodore (Teddy being short for Theodore)

Belle is named after the Arena the Habs play in (it's actually the Bell center... but she was also beautiful so we added the E)

And Beezer was goalie John Vanbiesbroucks nickname when he played... so we have Beezer... we were going to name him Rocket (after Maurice Richard) but he's too goofy for a serious name like that... so we went with Beezer

Cody was short for Kodak Bear, like the white Grizzly bears. He was a big white fluffy thing.

Actually, it's really kinda terrible, but a client at work's daughter has my dog's name. We really love this client because her name is really fun to say, so when I got a puppy, a couple coworkers and I decided that we would name her after the daughter.
We're weird...but with all the bad stuff that you hear all the time at Legal Aid, some of us find amusement in small things.
Generally, before this, I named my pets after music related stuff. My dog Mason was named after the drummer for Pink Floyd

I picked it out before I even really met her because I thought it was cute and unique. It doesn't fit her personality at all, and I soon discovered there were plenty other Dobermans with the name. Oh well.
