i had an old rehab aquaintence contact me about 2 baby birds, no real details other than there on 4 feedings (meaning there likley unfeathered and about 10-14 days old and rather delicate)

she aske dme if i could take them...because shes not that experienced with birds...and while shes handling it right now she doesnt want to keep them on...

i thought it through i said yes, i have the time... and she said great i can meet you...
so i told her the best place to meet and asked her if it would be doable, and let me know if not and if so when...

this was friday...
ive heard nothing back yet...
emailed her sunday to see if she got my last email...
nothing back yet

*grumbles*

if she wants to keep them all she has to do is let me know...but right now im sat here going "whats going on, are they alive, i need to knwo so i can set up my makeshift brooder and go get a small tub of kaytee (luckily there tiny so wont eat much) and get everything set...
there also realy delicate at this age and if shes not too experienced and doesnt feel comofrtable doing it, i dont want them getting aspirated form lack of experience or crop burn or something...
*grumbles*

if someone asks you to do them a favor, especially one that involves 2 tiny lives, youd think theyd be quick to get back intouch with you about arranging the hand off...
especially considering how touchy the weather can be this time of year...today would have been perfect to arrange the swap because its not raining, theres no snow on the ground and its safe to drive...

ill keep yall updated...
just wanted to vent a little lol.

The person could be busy and doesn't necesarily spend alot of time on the computer.

I know I personally never used to check my e-mail on the weekend as I didn't most of my internet stuff at work... so e-mails on friday didn't get answered until monday or tuesday.

^^ That's what I thought on reading your original post. I don't think it's that she changed her mind ... I think she lost them and doesn't want to tell you. :(

She first contacted you last Friday, marking the email "urgent", you responded with an offer to meet so you could get the birds, no answer to that and then no answer again to your follow-up on Sunday ... and today is Wednesday!

Considering all that it doesn't make sense to me that she would just be too "busy" to respond. I have temporarily cared for orphaned baby animals ... you're pretty "busy" just doing all that's required for that care, to the point that it is not something that would just slip one's mind.

precisely my thought, doing rehab is someone contacts you with an urgent its just that, URGENT, not "well its kidna urgent but it can wait a week" ya know?!

i emailed her one more time, asked if all was ok sid to let me know if anything had happend and that these things do happen to the best of us...but im not expecting much after this long... i offered to go to her house last friday to pick them up she inssited we could meet (shes about 2 hours away), and then nothing :(

its hard enough raising baby birds as it is, but off season birds so young out of nest for someone uncomfortable with a bad birdy track record...:(

i actually dont know, she just said they were very small and judging by feather status about 10 days from hatch...im guessing probbaly sparrows, weve had a couple this season sucessfully hatching which is incredibly weird!
