Ok, I have been trying to get my dogs to let me take a half way decent picture of them today but they just WILL NOT cooperate. I get them in the sit and stay position (and that is REALLY hard to do with three dogs) but the second I pick up the camera they all scatter to different corners of the house! If I do get a picture of them they usually look so miserable that I have to do another one. I usually have to catch them off guard in order to get a pretty good picture of their faces. Usually I end up getting the tops of their heads or the side of their face. My question is WHY do some dogs LOATHE the thought of getting their pictures taken? I mean I think my dogs feel as though it is just pure torture getting their pictures taken. I am really trying to get a good picture of all three of them (or atleast one good picture of each of them) and it just doesn't look like it's gonna happen. Does anyone have any pointers on getting a picture?

Tippy loves the camera. If I have a treat, all I have to do is have her sit or lay down and she poses perfectly for the camera. Colby however, usually has a look on her face like, "Gimme the treat already, girl!" or "aw man is this boring." May gets waaay to close to the camera and I end up with pictures of a big brown and pink nose. :p

That's a cute picture! Mine already know sit and stay but the second they see that camera they're long gone. If I use a treat they all attack me (with kisses) until they get the treat and I can't get their picture.

My dogs love to get their picture taken. I have to have the camera in my hand though before I even tell them to sit. Having a treat that they can see helps alot.

Mine are both suckers for a timer that ticks. They get the cutest expression on their faces and I get some great pictures :p

Maybe my dogs feel getting their pictures taken steals a part of their soul or something. They may hate the flash. I think they are just having fun giving me a hard time, it's a big game to them.

Harley LOVES having his photo taken. Even when I'm not photographing him he'll come over and get into the shot. He actually POSES for photos! It's quite strange really! :D (He'll stand there for ages holding a pose while I take photos of him). When we were taking photos of our house renovations Harley was in every photo... lol we didn't realise it at the time of taking them.

Abby, on the otherhand, is really shy of the camera, and turns her head away from it, so it's really hard to photograph her nicely. She's getting a bit more used to having her photo taken, though, but she's quite timid towards the camera for some reason. Probably because it's nearly as big as her! lol :D

LOL, I think Misha thinks that - the looks she gives me. I think it is the flash - I only have to open the camera case and she is off. I've tricked her this week with a camera phone - but generally she has to be outside and having a really good time to let you take a snap!

Shiva Diva LOOOOVES the camera. When it comes out, I have a hard time getting a photo of anyone but Shiva. She gets right in front. I know the flash bothers her because she'll blink and blink afterward, but she's willing to make the sacrifice to be the center of attention. She's a ham.

Kharma's reached the point where she resents Shiva getting all the camera time, so she'll move Shiva out of the way.

Bimmer doesn't care. I get the best shots of him with the long lens, lol!

I taught my dogs long sits and long down. I set them all up together (5 dogs) and they will stay until I release them. Another good way to get good shots is to get a good camera and just take random pic's on a hike. With my Newf's I can set them up however I wish walk away and take many pic's with no problems.

usually the will sit for quite awhile, it's just the camera that makes them run. I'll try some ideas that everyone has suggested, especially the one with the timer. I would really like to get some pics of them incase one of them gets loose one day. Although I would like to get a good picture because some of our family has been bugging us for a good picture of them.

Ok so I guess lots of dogs like getting their pictures taken then. The few dogs that I have been around hated it (just like my dogs). I got some pictures of them today seperately, and they did ok. I think Hannah does the best out of all three, if she'd just sit still long enough. Shelby will just lay there now, I think she's still a little sick, but Mack will see the camera and race straight back for his kennel like I've just pointed a gun at him or something. I'll get his picture though.
