lolol

Well I heard from a K9 trainer that dogs that were born and raised in kennels are prone to doing it.

Some dogs eat their feces because they're missng something in they're diet. I've seen this happen, and I've seen it stop as soon as the dog was switched to a quality diet.

Sometimes it's a learned behavior. Learned from the mom or maybe a kennel mate - gross but true.

And some dogs just like the taste. I know some dogs that only like "poopcicles" in the winter  humph

True. Lucy came from a pet store and ate her own feces when we brought her home. It was disgusting and sad. :( She stopped as soon as she started eating some good food.

That's a new one to me... all mine were raised in kennels - one does it quite a bit (Liz, but only her own poo), one I've seen do it ONCE in 6 years (Daisy - again, only her own), and the other two don't appear to have ever tried (Eer & Rage). To the best of my knowledge, the beagle pack never does, and they've been kenneled their whole lives.

I have one of those and I've yet to have figured out a reason as to why she does it. She hasn't "snacked" in a long time, but that's only because I watch her like a hawk and make sure she doesn't. Nothing's missing in her diet, and she wasn't really kenneled ever to my knowledge. I think it's just a bad habit she has... she's always done it.

Izzy ate her poo as a puppy and I'm not sure if she stopped because I changed her to a better food or because she grew out of it. She still eats cat/sheep turds though :rolleyes"

Kage eats his poop. We think he thinks it's tasty. He goes diving for the stuff if we get there to remove it. Someone I met the other day was talking about training for a good recall and bringing the dogs favorite treat along to insure the recall. My husband and I we looked at each other and we both were thinking of his favorite treat... We decided to go for cheese instead though.

LOL. Yes, other species turds around here are another story... Daisy likes to roll in them *shudder* and loves to eat rabbit poo :(
