OMG how can anyone do such a thing!!!!!
and to think, we were looking on puppyfind for a border terrier, no chance of us buyin from there now!!!!
Personally i would just make up some random law, and then say your like a pc wiz or a cop and say that you've trace him or summit and that if he takes them off you will let him go.
I think theres a way that you can take off right click so people cant take pics off your site, but the admin has to do it, might not be but there might.

Hope he takes it off! good luck!

no reply from him.
I think that it would be great if websites can protect it's members' photos from being stolen by others:cool:

I already told everyone I know about puppyfind, so that no one trust them. I am happy that you decided not to buy -or let me say, not to give your money to someone who has "fake" picture of a dog-

Thanks Gwinny. I just wrote an e-mail to [email protected]
I told them about Snowy's photos and other dogs whose photos has been stolen too.
I even said that they better remove my dog's add otherwise I will make sure that their wesite will disappear.
I am really fed up about sending e-mails and not getting replies or not making them remove Snowy's pic. This drives me crazy

I'm horrified. I sent this big, long, standard-grade essay to the complaint thing. I even sent the link to this thread, showing what an uprising this has caused.

I sent a complaint to puppyfind also....they have not responded to it. I also wrote to dogstar to see if there was anything they could do. This is what they wrote back:

Yes, we are aware of a few cases. In each instance we have encouraged the
Dogster whose pictures were taken to contact PuppyFind.

We agree it's a total bummer that some folks just can't keep their sticky
paws off other people's dog pictures. When someone posts pictures on Dogster
that have been taken from other websites and the facts have been verified,
we remove the stolen pics/dogs right away.

Our guess is that one or two people thought they had a great idea, but they
will soon find out it was a dumb thing to do because once notified, PuppyFinder
will get to these crooks and the problem will stop. At this point we don't
see any long-term abuse trends, just a one-time thing. You should complain
to Puppyfinder as we have. That being said, we're keeping an eye on things
to make sure it stays a one-time thing.

When we are notified that a Dogster's photos have been posted someplace else
without their permission, our options are somewhat limited because the
copyright
for each pet's photos belong to the individual member. We can notify people,
but we do not have sufficient legal status to file legal complaints
with/against
other websites. The legal rights pertaining to specific photos belong to
each Dogster member and they do have the option to legally file complaints
with/against other websites or individuals for the improper use of their
photos.

Where possible, at the request of the individual owner who might be filing
a complaint, Dogster can and will provide evidence of when photos were posted
on Dogster. Beyond that we have no legal options in matters pertaining to
stolen pet photos published on other websites.

So what can you do? When you find evidence of stolen photos being posted
on Dogster, share the URLs to the original pics with us and we will take
the appropriate action to verify and then remove stolen copyrighted photos
from Dogster. If you find evidence of photos being posted elsewhere that
have been stolen from a member of Dogster, you should contact the individual
member via Dogster Private Messaging or let us know so we can contact them.
Be sure to send along the URL of the website so we can find it easily.

Can Dogster encrypt photos to make it impossible to copy photo posted here?
Yes and no. There are technical things that can be done to make it harder,
but the only folks you really stop are the ones who wouldn't do this kind
of thing anyway. For every technical trick we can put in place to prevent
someone from copying a photo, there are a couple of tricks to get around
the process. Basically, anyone who posts something online needs to understand
that copies of that work can be made in one way or another. The only thing
that really stops people who steal things is a law suit.

It's a shame that a few people cause so much trouble for a lot of nice folks.

Thanks for taking the time to write and share your concerns. Let's all work
together to keep a few misguided people from spoiling all the grrrific fun
we're all having with Dogster.

Thanks for loving Dogster. We love you right back!

Woof!

-dogster-

Perhaps you can take egal action. There has to be copyright, or freedom of information, or proptection of personal infomation or something.
