Why can't my dog amuse herself?!

Seriiously- she follows me from room to room, stares at me like I'm doing the most fascinating things and constantly brings me toys to play with her. I love her with my whole heart, but sheesh, I have to get some work done! I've tried every toy under the sun, but she just won't play by herself. Suggestions for my little shaddow?

even treat type toys? Stuff a kong for her--see if that works? Also--teach her to stay in a certain place ( I use the dog bed)--when I have had enough of two hounds I will tell them to go to bed. That gives a short break at least.
