Soooo -- this weekend we had out National Show in MI, and I thought I would share some pictures.
We didnt do a whole lot...not that I expected too...LOL -- I have two very immature dogs, so winning really isnt a happening event most of the time....or at least it wont be for another year or two...that and Ruby just came out of heat, leaving both of my dogs skinny and nekkid.
But for news, friday Ruby got her first leg towards her HCT (AHBA Herding). The Judge was surprised....she was making such a racket about going to see the sheep that he didnt think she would be as controlled as she was....hec...I didnt think she was going to be as controlled as she was. My other dog...you know...the more controlled one, decided that he hadnt seen sheep recently enough and wanted Lamb for dinner, so he did not pass that leg....to be fair though I've spent the better part of two months trying to get Ruby to pay attention and cap her drives around the sheep Leo's only had a quarter of the work that she has.
Conformation I didnt really do anything...Leo took second in his class on the second day, but that was it for the weekend...I'm not a reat handler...though my wonderful boyfriend took pictures all weekend for me...so I was able to see some of the things I needed to improve (keeping head up, better stacking, cutting nails shorter, fluffing coat, etc...) but still....it was pretty ugly...I almost ran into several things I'm mostly happy that I didnt slip.
Sooooo, without further ado...some of the pictures :
