Well, when I put Whisper in her crate, she whines, and cries, and she resists when I put her in there! I even try to lure her!! She is too smart!! I tried putting her food in there, and everything! I am kind of getting frustrated with this, and the nipping. I know she is just a puppy, but I don't know how to do it is why I am frustrated!! And she just keeps on doing it.. I don't let her out, until she is quiet, and ignore her if she is whining and crying.. Any tips? And how do I teach this puppy no? Tips, and training advice would be wonderful! :) Thank you for reading!

I've never puppy crated ...is it large enough for you to go into ??? If so , go in and sit until she comes in to you .

How old is Whisper again? If she is very young (younger than 4 months), I would not give her a chance to refuse the crate. Pick her up and stuff her in - then feed her. The only place she gets food of any kind is in the crate. If you're training her to sit or down with treats, do it beside the crate. When she does what you want, throw the treat in the crate so she has to go in and get it. If she doesn't, too bad so sad - she lost the treat. Reach in, pick up the treat, try again, but she only gets the treat from the crate.

When I have a difficult to crate train older puppy, the ONLY place that dog gets food of any kind is in it's crate. Period. The puppy may choose to not eat for three days. Oh well. Food is being offered, food is being refused. No treats, no snacks, no nothing unless it's in the crate. If I have a puppy/dog that is being extremely difficult, after 24 hours, I may offer the food multiple times a day, I may even throw handfuls to the back of the crate, just to tempt eating, depending on my mood. The dog has the choice to eat and is choosing not to. Not my problem. You're hungry, too bad. Food is in the crate. You don't want the crate, then you don't want the food.

At seven weeks , I don't think any pup would like crating ... unless the breeder introduced them at an early age . The fear time comes in at 8 weeks , so any bad memories will last forever . I personally would not force and throw in this week !!

In my breed, there is lots of talk of fear periods, but I have only truly seen one fear period in all the dogs I have had, and that was with a six month old puppy, and I didn't raise her. Maybe it's because of how I deal with it. If I come across a situation where my puppy is afraid, I act very nonchallant, basically ignoring the behavior, other than possibly treating a bit more often to get her past the "scarey" thing. I have found that if I make a big deal about what my dog is worried about, it will make my dog more worried. If I ignore it and work through it, the dog forgets about it.

Picking up a puppy and placing her in her crate should not be something to worry about in regards to fear periods. My poor Trouble - she had such a hard time adjusting to crating as a baby. She just wouldn't stop crying and screaming. And I couldn't not give in to her. So, at about 9 weeks of age, I crated her then went to a friends for coffee. I was gone for two hours. When I got home, she was sleeping soundly. She cried herself out. She never made a peep again when being crated, and to this day still sleeps crated (she's my perpetual chewer - at four years old I still can't trust her not to find something to chew on....).

with regard to crating, I just put the puppy in the crate I have a blanket over the crate covering the sides and the back and the only area that he can see out is the front. I leave the lights dim and the radio on so he hears the music.

The first few days he would cry when I would put him in the crate for 15 minutes or so. After that he just went to sleep.

Now the only time he cries in the crate uncontrollably is when he has to eliminate. He absolutly refuses to go number 1 or 2 in his crate. So I let him out walk him over to his wee wee pad let him go and then put him right back in the crate till morning.

His sister on the other hand who my friend bought has no problem going to the bathroom in her crate. The problem with her is that she will go number 2 and step in it roll around in it...it is very disgusting. She does this in the crate or out of the crate. I don't know what to do about her. I am puppy sitting her this week while her daddy is on vacation, and every morning I have to give her a bath it is that bad. I can't even just clean her with a baby wipe..It just gets everywhere.

Any advice on how to get her not to roll around and stomp in her poo?

I am not too sure on that one either, because Whisper does the same exact thing!! She poops and pees in her crate!! I am trying to get her to stop, and she slobbers like none other when I take her out, well she slobbers when she is in the crate too.. I tried wetting down her food, it doesn't work.. And I give her plenty of food, and water, but I don't know why she slobbers sooo much! I never have had Hershey slobber in his crate, (when he was a puppy.) And the other things.. I have trouble with..
