Where did you socialize your pup/dog/s

i worked at a restaurant that sold ice cream an burgers and such. and i would take her up there and all the workers would pet her and give her ice cream and she got to meet a bunch of different people shopping there

My dog was not socialized when we got her.. so we go to the dog park 2-3 times a day.. everday.. and it really helps.. we dont have to pick her up when a wiener dog walks by. though she will be out of commision for a bit (she is getting spayed!)

Dance goes absolutely everywhere with me. She's been to the bank, outside of malls, busy parks, other people's houses, schools, obedience classes, etc. The only place she hasn't been is a dog park as I don't like the one near me and she's too young (IMO) anyway.

Dog shows are the best the insanity cant be found anywhere else.
But I do 4h on tuesday and now I use Petco too.
Plus Italian 4 courses dinners at moms .

This is a broad statement and I know you cant take him everywhere lol, so where do you take him really

A lot of places. I take Lucy everywhere I can, and I switch off between them often or take both girls.
Millie goes with me everywhere, as she's in training as a SD- grocery stores, the mall, the movies, the bank, doctor appointments, etc. Even when she's "off duty" I take her wherever I can.

How about in the cold winter months? We get about 8 months, how would I soc her during those months? Can get to -40 as well, so I am not sure if there can be much outside soc, any advice or how I can get the most soc for this time period?

What sort of socialization are you more concerned with? Environmental? Doggy? Human?

Most Home Depots allow dogs if you want environmental and human. Large pet stores will give you environmental, human, and doggy interaction (though be careful, not everyone there is *smart* with their dog, so you need to be on the lookout the whole time). Bringing the dog to friends parties who will allow it will give you some fantastic human and environmental. Also contact local training centers and see if any of them offer playgroups. For $10 you can hang out for an hour with the other dog owners while your dogs play. The playgroups should be under the supervision of a trainer who isn't there to train your dog, but to point out different play behaviors, and let you know when it's time to step in. You are solely responsible for your dog, but the trainer is there to make sure everyone is appropriately responsible.
