Awesome pictures! Midnite is scared of my lunge whip. :p

LOL thats too funny!

I was playing with Riot in the indoor horse arena and I grabbed a lunge whip to see what he'd to when i snapped it.. He was standing there chewing his toy, I snapped it above him, he jumped up and ran at me trying to get the whip away from me lol He loved it!
So, I'd snap it infront of him, above, beside. Not scared of that huge snapping sound that echoed through the metal walls!
Yet, he gets scared when he hears a chair screeching down a floor ! lol

Such a funny dog..

Riots teeth are kept pearly white. He gets his teeth brushed dailY :)

If you are planning to show Riot, get the heck rid of that collar NOW!!!!!! Unless you want a band of short broken hair in a ring around her neck.

lol thanks for the advice, but he doesn't have his flat collar on all the time.

Only when i'm not home, or when we are active doing something.

Hes groomed daily, bathed regularily(as needed, obviously).

We dont have any problems with him and "broken fur". I know what you mean by your statement and I'm sure it doesn't and will not happen with him..

dont worry your pretty little head over it.. its covered lol ;)

he needs his tags on while i'm not here, or when we are doing active stuff(every time I have the camera, were always out doing something) In case he gets out and away or gets lost.

Althought he is tattooed.. its not enough. I feel safer with his tags on :)

Having a choke chain on him isn't the best idea, because THAT collar breaks hair, has the potential of choking him if he gets caught on something as well. :)

My poor head doesn't have room to worry about too much, lol. It is just that it doesn't take much to break or wear down hair with a collar. Most folks I know with hairy beasts use fur saver collars.....the chain collar with the BIG links. And you can leave a chain collar on a dog---just get a snap and hook one ring to a link at whatever size you want. Of course, being an old fart, I don't leave collars on dogs when I am not around. All kinds of fracky things can happen.

And with a dog as nice as Riot----or with any loved dog----I would go the micro chip route. Even the dimwittiest people in boondock animal shelters are learning to scan for a chip. Tattoos can and do fade, and collars can be slipped off if they get hung up on something (if they are put on really loosely as they should be).

And I was trying to be a bit of a smarty pants with my feigned horror at a Riot dog with a neeked neck, rofl.:D I bet ya ain't gonna have much fun showing him---he will probably get his championship toot sweet. Just when you are getting use to showing him, he will be finished. He is gorgeous.

lol Thanks so much :) Its always nice to have others worry for me and Riot ;)

I have thought about microchipping him and I may have it done next time hes at the vets. The vet gave me some pamphlets etc to go over(I requested them lol)

I really hope Ri gets his CH title soon, i'd rather be showing obedience, rally-O and tracking lol!! But I'd like him to get his CH title so our breeder may be interested in breeding him b/c he'll be hooked up with lots of titles by the time i'm through with him lol!! Might make a good name for her kennel :)

I wouldn't want to keep a choke chain on Riot in case he snagged the hanging part of it and choked himself.

His tattoo has already faded a bit, the first number in his ear is unreadable now.. so a microchip before he starts his show career may be a must.

I like leaving his tags on him when I'm not around incase he does get out, he's also got a petLynx tag on that says "scan my chip" for some reason lol but hes registered on that as well. So I guess imight as well get him chipped.. I am still weighing out the pros and cons about them.

Did you do any showing with your dogs What breed do you have?
