I have a 6 month old Shih Tsu. Since we've brought her home, she'll start wheezing out of the blue. She usually does it once or twice at a time, 2 or so times a week. It doesn't seem to bother her, she still walks around and jumps on the couch while it's happening. I've taken her to the vet and he said that her air passages are fine, it might just be something as simple as allergies. All I really want to know is if there is anything I can to do help her when it happens. It usually only lasts a minute or two. My sister has told me that rubbing their throat while it's happening helps but my husband and I agree that it seems like that would be more uncomfortable for the dog. If anyone knows anything to help, I would really appreciate you letting me know.
