i like all dogs but in particular strong and athletic dogs, i like the CAO and the CO although they are not easy dogs but i like them for their strength and their devotion and because they are extreme dogs!. i like the ridgeback and some mastiff types that i think have the cutest charming eye.
and now that my friend got an akita female puppy, i like akitas ..she is the cutest thing i ve seen a fur doll!

Herders and Retrievers. Herders for ther intense drive, energy and work ethic... but also no because of their intense drive, energy and work ethic. Lol

Retrievers... I just love how pretty they are and eager to please. But oh my god... SOOOOOO needy. Drives me nuts. I DO NOT WANT TO BE IN CONSTANT PHYSICAL CONTACT WITH YOU!

Yes, sighthounds for me. :)

At my age I probably should have stuck with my little Shih Tzu x Maltese but when I got the chance to get a Doberman which I have wanted forever, I went for it and I am not the least bit disappointed in her.

Huskies. I adore them but they are such a poor match for me. I need like...a local friend with a dozen huskies so I can play with them and then go back to my own dogs haha.
This. I love huskies. I love their vocalizations and their fluff and just gah. But I'd go insane living with one.

I am typically attracted to athletic-looking dogs, nothing bigger than 40lbs or so, nothing smaller than 10lbs. Border Terriers, Border Collies, Aussies are high on my radar list right now.

But dang it, one day I really want a Mastiff. Either English or a Dogue.

Malamutes, Siberian Huskies, Shiba Inu and Shikoku. I could try to make myself into a good person for them, but deep down I know I am not right for them, and we would just frustrate each other. But they are so beautiful and adorable. I love them.

Dobermans are another. I love them but have grown to learn that they really are not the greatest match for me.

I also love Dalmatians. Love, love, love them. And the one we had was amazing. But I worry that I might find most too Doberman like, which would be fine and doable, but not ideal. Need to spend more time around multiple examples of the breed.

Leonbergers and St. Bernard's are another. Totally not what I normally look for.

In reality though I am pretty much just a herding breed person and can mesh well with some sporting breeds too. But really, I am happiest with herders and herder mixes.

Cavaliers. I just find them so appealing even though they don't really fit my lifestyle or needs at all. But they're so freaking sweet.

Greyhounds - I haven't met one that I have disliked and I have met a number that I adored! But, but, but - I'm not a couch potato and I'd like to dabble in obedience/agility/tracking etc. And I like running and I'd my next dog to join me.

But goodness, they are such nice dogs.

Borzoi's and Toy Poodles.

I don't know.

Other than that it's all BC, Mal, Kelpie types. Biddable, high drive, super athletic, agile, moderately built dogs with a bit of crazy brain and an edge. Bliss.

Then Borzoi's and Toy Poodles. All the dog people I work with are like "wtf?!"

Funnily enough, I've been meaning to start this exact thread for a few days now.

Mini Dachshund. My pastor has one and a looooove her to pieces. They just aren't right for me for so many reasons....... But I want one! Lol

Husky. Just no. But yes.

Besides those... I pretty much love my sporting dogs. And Great Danes (which we almost got this year... so bummed:().

Retrievers... I just love how pretty they are and eager to please. But oh my god... SOOOOOO needy. Drives me nuts. I DO NOT WANT TO BE IN CONSTANT PHYSICAL CONTACT WITH YOU!
Lol this so made me think of Harleigh. It seems like every single night she is cuddling (to her... more like taking all the room, kicking, snoring, etc...) with someone who is sitting in a chair.

YOU ARE NOT A LAP DOG. YOU WEIGH 65 POUNDS :p She's sweet though, lol.

^ these are all the reasons I have herders/retrievers haha. But we like to call it "affectionate" ;).

That said the little terrier dude cuddles more than anyone else in the house...he's just small enough that it's less noticeable haha

Oh, those too! They are not what I am into in appearances or type, but every one I saw last summer at agility and conformation had this aura of sweet awesomeness surrounding it.

There was a little Cavalier at an old job that I was soooo in love with. He was a blenheim so he looked & acted like a tiny Rowan. I wanted to steal him so badly. I would have a dog like that in a heartbeat, but the health issues are scary.

I'm mostly a sporting/herding person, but I also really love Ibizans, whippets (especially LH) and I'm growing more fond of Borzoi.

I have actually given serious consideration to a Basset Fauve de Bretagne to fill my inexplicable low-slung scent hound need. They are lighter and longer in the leg than Basset Hounds, but still have that certain something that draws me. I think I'm just looking for a training challenge given the goals I have.

I do nosework with a couple that has two really nice Shiba Inu. They've done agility and rally - everything you wouldn't expect from a Shiba - and it is so awesome. They are just really exceptional dogs (and owners.) Sometimes it makes me want to get an off breed for my agility dog just to push boundaries and have fun with it. I've also considered a Basenji, but if this couple were to freeze some of their boy's sperm, I'm not sure I could say no to a future puppy from him.

Then again, no matter how much I tell myself I don't want a dog with potential DR/DA, all I go back to are terriers! I am currently in love with the Irish, but no Earth Dog for them.

All that aside, I think if I do the sane thing, I will end up with a nice Border Terrier next.

Beagles. I like herders and spaniels and retrievers. Beagles make me giddily happy though.

Beagles are so cute and happy and stubborn. I lived with one one summer and I've been considering one a few dogs down the line. Her name was Layla and she was a PITA because her owner let her be but beneath that was a really cool dog. It'd be fun just for a change of pace, you know? My dogs have all been papillons and herders who are all notoriously easy and biddable and hang on your every word. I think a stubborn hound might be right up my alley for a change.

Show line beagles especially are freaking adorable. Nothing is cuter. There's a lady here that does a lot of sports with her group and I love them. So much.

I'm a scenthound girl, I'll just stick with those. And I'm hoping to convince Chris he needs a hound next, too.
