My dogs have eaten some strange stuff thru the years. At our other house we had lava rock in the landscaping. Roxie and Duke both enjoyed them. Whenever Keith dumps the grill, Brutus and Roxie run for the charcoal. But, I think the strangest, was Duke. He went fishing in the pond one day.The water level was low, He caught a bass and ate it raw. sushi anyone? I had never seen a dog do that. Years ago when I had horses, the dogs considered horse poop quite wonderful.

Horse poop is a wonderful thing! Gander is a real help when cleaning stalls <sigh>

The strangest thing he likes is the roofing shingle pieces that little the lawn.

Our previous dog, a Chessie, at the age of 6 months ate a purple glass Christmas tree ball. We had him penned in the kitchen but he managed to escape and we knew he'd eaten it due to the fact he left the hanger on the floor and had purple glass shards in his teeth. We contacted our vet (a friend) who advised lots of bran flakes, LOL, and to just let it pass. I don't think our hound enjoyed pooping for a couple of days after that, though (ouch!) and when the glass re-appeared his digestive tract had stripped all the purple off and the glass was perfectly clear! He survived with no ill effect except a very sore bum, LOL!

Sunny has eaten a LOT of weird things, but as far as top of the gross-o-meter He, Daisy and Cole all tie for the worst. They all went for a walk in the field and found a dead rodent head, probably that of a muskrat or something like it. I'm pretty sure Daisy sniffed it out, but Sunny snatched it from her and trolloped away. The next thing I know Sunny is joyously dancing across the field with something in his mouth and Daisy is behind him running with all her might to catch him, barking at him all the way .... for a visual, Daisy was atleast half Sunny's size so she was having a hard time catching up, and the bark was more of an angry yelp over and over. Then Cole decided to join in and stole it from Sunny. Then Sunny got it back from him and poor Daisy just ran back and forth between them. It was like watching two little boys play keep away from their little sister. Anyway, they all got a taste and then Daisy carried the thing home to the back yard. I had to spray her to leave it there and not carry it into the house. All the way home I heard the crunch of them eating the bones. EEEWWWW. Then there was the dead fish, the dead crawdads, a pillow for the crate (won't make THAT mistake again:rolleyes: ), and sticks. Sunny for some reason loves to eat sticks.

Molly hasn't eaten anything strange, yet! But my first dog was a retriever and she used to eat the weirdest, most disgusting things. I think the worst was when she was only about six months old. He had an old truck axle in the back yard that my brother brought for his truck. It was rusty and greasy and all the greasy patches were covered in sand. One day we found the dog scraping the grease and sand off with her teeth and eating it!! She'd cleared about a ten centimetre patch by the time we caught her. She was one sick puppy that afternoon....
