What type of Dog food do you have your dog on and why?

Riot is fed Lamb & Rice Nutro Natural Choice Puppy chow.
He gets 3 cups of this a day plus L&R Nutro Canned Puppy chow - he'll get a table spoon to be mixed in with his dry food.

The breeder recomended it for me.

All three of mine are eating Bench & Field Holistic Natural Canine formula because it is readily available to us and it is a good food.

Two cups a day of food each for all three of mine. They range in weight from 50 to around 65 pounds, ages 5 1/2 to around 10 years old.

Royal Canin Medium 25...3 1/2 cups a day for Sawyer, 2 cups a day for Aubrey. I've started mixing in some vegetables, a little cottege cheese, the leftovers from my bowl of cereal in the morning and the occasional meat scrap every once in a while.

I tried feeding Sawyer that L&R Nutro... he wouldn't touch it to save his life!

Boris is a 10 months old golden (77lbs), and Tips a 5 months old lab mix (25-30 lbs). I feed them innova adult dry. Boris gets 3 cups a day, Tips 2. It's less than they should as they are still growing, but they get treats aside also.

I feed a variety of foods including Nature's Variety, Holistic Blend, Canidae, Natura, Wellness and Solid Gold. I also rotate with a raw diet, partially cooked etc. I like rotating foods, in case they are getting too much of one thing or too little it will even out in the end. ;) I also add canned food to the kibble every time I serve it, this ensure that my dogs are getting plenty of water as dehydration is common for dog and humans alike...it's amazing how many of us are walking around dehydrated and our major organs are paying the price.

a home prepared diet that consists of about 75% raw meaty bones and raw meat, and 25% of non-meat extras (veggies, fruit, yogurt, table scraps), of which some are raw and some cooked.

after all the research i have done on canine nutrition in the past 5 years, i think it's the best i can do for him.

i do give some commercial treats, but that's usually limited to things like evo or karma kibble and natural balance meat rolls.

Eagle Pack Hannah eats about 4 and a 1/2 cups a day. I also mix in canned either Chicken soup for the puppy lover's soul, Eagle Pack, or Innova. Once or twice a week she will get raw bones and stuff. I also give her dog treats such as Milk bones and charlee bear treats and the busy bones (yes I know very bad but only once every other week).

I just recently switched my 8 year old Yorkie to Innova Evo kibbles in the morning and Nature's Variety raw meat in the evening.

Why? Because the Evo was the first kibble she ever begged for. :) And the raw food is just plain good for her.

adding some fresh(er) foods to dry food is much healthier for the dog than feeding strictly dry food. and even tho canned food is a commercial product too, it's still far less processed than dry food.

you don't have to use canned food tho, you can for example also just cook a whole chicken in plenty of water (start with the chicken covered with cold water), with some veggies, then debone the chicken when it's done, and add the meat and skin back into the pot with the veggies. this makes a whole pot full of a natural, fresh, healthy "kibble topper" for less money than you'd have to spend on canned food.

We feed Spencer kibbles with either some tuna or minced chicken. And Maddy Supercoat puppy kibble plus a little bit of tuna. They ocasionally get a bone with a bit of meat on it to chew on. Sometimes we add some rice in as well

I feed my 2 male dogs (Bailey - yorkie & Dozer - ddb) an all raw diet and my new 9 week old yorkie girl is on Innova dog food. At 6 months she'll be switched over to an all raw diet as well :D
