So my friend who lives across the street has a dog about 7 or 8 years old. It is a lab mix from the pound (its looks almost pure lab to me). I feel so terrible for her. They got her as a puppy and since she was maybe a year or a little less she has stayed outside. They have never let her in the house since then. She doesn't have a real doghouse or kennel, just a spot under their porch. She has almost no background (they have a pool) sometimes she is allowed in the garage but not overnight because they need to put their cars in it. I feel so terrible, its breaks me heart. And pretty much she gets no attention they see her and say a quick hello when she is fed, and she gets one short walk a day(sometimes) Everyonce in awhile my friend may play with her but its rare especially now she does sports and plays. I don't know what to do. I'll invite her on a walk almost every night with me and my dog Nike but she doesnt usually come. I've even offered when she says she can't come, to take her dog. She refused, she ddin't feel her dog needed it. I have tried to hit at it by sayin "I dont know how Nike would live with lots of love and attention." that does nothing. She is an extremely touchy person and I'm not extremely close. She once said "yeah my family has decided to take better care of her." that didnt happen. So maybe she realizes there is a problem but she is in extreme denial, she would have to dig deep down to decide it was really all that bad. I don't know how to talk to her about it. She will be extremely hurt, angry, will not listen to me and wont do anything about it. She is kind of lazy. Her dog has gotten out several times, sometimes but rarely barks, and does tons of digging. They have to put blocks outside their fence so that she doesn't get out. The sad thing is my friend says she loves her so much and that she is a big part of the family. I wonder how she can be if she doesnt give much love to her.

mmk I will look at those. I feel so bad. She wont admit that anything is wrong. I would try to the dog from my friend- she lives across the street but last time I hinted at another dog my mom yelled at me
