Hi all :)

This is more of a curiosity kind of thing. What time do your dogs/puppies wake up in the morning?

Right now Cheza (10 wks) wakes up between 6:45 and 7:45 am, depending on how late she went to bed, how much she slept the day before, and whether she was up in the middle of the night.

So what time do yours get up?

I'm lucky. She never bothers me and generally waits till I get up. She usually planks herself at the bottom of the stairs and waits. I do vary what time I get up within a range of an hour though, so she knows it's coming. I have awakened late at times and she doesn't seem to complain. I keep odd hours sometimes so I just think she's used to it. It's nothing for me to give her a spin outside at 1 AM either. So, the only time she ever wakes me up is if her bladder is in the way. She has a particular whine she uses and I Know. But that is rare. So, I would have to say she gets up whenever I do.

Dakota gets up with me at about 8AM. Eve gets up at 2AM, 5AM and then at 8.

Ripley won't get up until mom is awake.

My three follow a very strick routine. I don't really understand how they can tell time, but they've never missed - They do their nightly business at 10:00 p.m, get tucked into their own beds at 10:30 p.m., sleep straight until being let out to do their morning business at 6:15 a.m., then go back to bed until 7:15 a.m when they come by my bed to wake me up.

The funny thing is at 6:15 a.m, they go to my husband's side of the bed to wake him up :), at 7:15 a.m., they go to my side of the bed to wake me up!

The things our dogs learn without being taught are nothing short of amazing!

My guy basically gets up when I do, but if I wake up later than usual then he will come in my bedroom and breath and stare right in my face until I get up. I usually wake up anywhere between 5:00 am & 5:30 but the other morning when I woke up at 4:00 am and stayed up he didn't move until an hour later to say "hi" to me LOL! It was pretty funny..............

Our pup is a good sleeper! She wakes up when we get up, which is around 6:30 weekdays, 7:30 weekends. She's 6 1/2 months old now. When she was younger we'd get up in the middle of the night for a potty break, but she sleeps through the night now. Thank God!

RD, how old is little Eve? I saw the pictures of her and she looks like an angel.

Cheza isn't on a routine for nighttime yet, but we try and keep her awake til later so she sleeps more soundly. She's capable of holding it from 2:00am til about 6:30... last night she held it from 1:30-5:30, but she was awake for a lot of the night because she slept all evening due to an upset tummy.

Roninis the early riser...he's up by 6am, asking to go our and poo and run around the house. The other two dogs base their wake-up times on him.

Ilsa wakes up when she can't stand Ronin's antics anymore. When Ronin wakes up, he noses my face or jumps up on my pillow. Then he moves down to the foot of the bed and lifts up the blanket to STARE at Ilsa until she wakes up and chases him off. By this time, they're making quite a racket and Ada wakes up (she still sleeps in a crate) and starts yapping to go potty.

Ah.... mornings with dogs... :)

Luke goes to bed around 11 pm and gets up at 5-6 am. That's when I get up and after I get all ready it's time for our walk. When I get ready he has to get up and "check" the house lol making sure everyone's ok. He likes to go from bedroom to bedrom and check if possible.

Duke isnt really on a schedule. During the week he goes out for the last time at 11pm, sometime Ill take him out again at 1am or 2am depending on when I get in or how cold it is. Then Im up at 6:45am to take him out before work. But the weekends, I automatically wake up between 7am-9am to take him out but we go back most times to bed sometime until 3pm. lol. As long as my sister isnt home moving around Duke will stay in bed until Im ready to get moving.

My dogs must love their sleep! My beagle would sleep all day if I didn't literally carry her up the stairs in the morning.

Other than her everyone gets up when I do-usually with a groan around seven.

But on nights I sleep in till noon the dogs don't seem to notice its any later. My corgi might jump on the bed and make me take her out though if she didn't go out late enough the night before.

Hen stays up late with a housemate who is a night owl (and a cook, so you know the dog's right there with her) and only turns in around 3am. I'm guessing, since I'm asleep. She gets up when I get up, but it's not very enthusiastic. She goes out for a while, but then sleeps all morning. I'm usually at work, but if I come home early or take a day off, she has this expression on her face--her sleep-rumpled face, all flat on one side--like I love you, but why are you here again?

Cheza, Eve is 9 weeks old. :) And thanks! She looks like a little angel, but erm... that's where the innocence ends. ;)

lol it's nice hearing how everyone and their dogs start the day. Mine usually is either by my husband elbowing me, or I might hear her whine or bang against the crate (I'm a really heavy sleeper).

I'm glad as she gets older we'll be able to adapt her a little more to our schedule (late to bed, up late in the morning because we are both night owls). I'll admit the early mornings are pretty rough on me. Right now she takes a 1.5-2hr nap between 9 and 11ish, and I go back to sleep while she does that, so it helps a little. Until she's older I'll work my schedule around hers.

RD, Eve is so adorable, I can't even get over it. Also, your pictures are FANTASTIC. I wish I could take some like that (I have a great SLR camera but I usually use my point-n-shoot digital) but I can't get her to sit still! :p

Depends with Trixie...

Sometimes she will get me up at 3 am, and 5 am

Or if shes really tired she will sleep in until I get up at 6 am

Sometimes I need to get her out of bed to let her out..LOL and than she will just crawl back into bed..lol

but now my CAT is waking me up in the middle of the night biting my nose and puuurring, wanting me to pet him.

Casey just gets up when I wake up, it can be anything from 6:30 during the week and later at the weekends. Even 1:00 to 2:00 pm if I had a very late night. The only time she wakes up when I'm in bed is if she wants to go outside to the toilet.
