Yeah! Sometimes just something that can give you a little hope is all it takes. She does sounds like a guardian angel.
Me and the triplets are keeping good thoughts. Oh, and btw, frequently I take only one dog with me or walk only one dog and leave the others home. It can just be a more pleasant outing to not be outnumbered by pupsters.
If it makes me feel better, can I compare it to my brother and I only visiting Dad one-on-one to make the visit more...enjoyable?
that kinda makes me feel better.
Yay! I'm so glad it turned around for you! Its entirely true - the amount of work you put into Rio sounds pretty epic.. you are likely the backbone of her life right now. Not that someone else couldn't be that backbone, but it would be a heck of a lot harder for them than for you.
Great to hear
It's almost like I needed to hit that rock bottom of "I can't do any more for her than I have, someone else needs to take over to improve her life" or whatever it was. Reading over my posts from yesterday, I think, "was I really
considering that?!" But I guess in our missions to do right we get a little lost and think we're, well, lost. Does that make sense?
I need to stop thinking about what we
should be doing, or
should have accomplished, and start thinking about all we
have done, and all we
will do. Something Krystal (gecko mom) said yesterday kinda stuck on me, something like "even though we can't provide the 'best' for them we should feel good going the best we can". That's so true.
Thanks for the support
it does a long way.
Liability in that if you give the dog away, it bites/hurts someone, then they could sue you.
Oh geez, definitely wouldn't want to get sued! Even if the person taking on the dog (and we're not talking mine anymore
) fully understood the issues with the dog and took over ownership? Just a theoretical question, could my friend, who's boy Rio got those two times, sue the original owners of the dog, should she had been inclined? Just trying to understand
I own that book and have yet to get around to it... let us know how you like it
Will do. I kinda flipped to the "understanding and solving canine problems" section, just to see what the author had to say, and kinda what his methods were. I'm obviously going to take a few days and read the whole book (it's like a big lesson plan) before starting. I'm thinking of kind of doing a "from puppy up again" type thing. We can skip the housetraining portion though
