Well freaking out and yelling because he thought a dog was acting wrong, is not the way to handle that kind of thing anyway. Shoot, if some stranger came into my house and started freaking out and yelling, my peke Cleo would probably bite him thinking he meant us harm or something.
If Dawson wasn't so transfixed with my aunt, he would've bitten him. I had to hold the akita/german shepherd mix's collar and have her next to me and try to act normal. The guy was freaking me out and I know I'd be in big trouble if Charolette took a chunk out of his leg. Jack was staring at him like he was a moron, and the other dogs were upstairs in my room relaxing and they might've been sleeping somewhere they couldn't hear the guy too well.

I went out to lunch (for the second time:)) with the police officer that helped me find Dottie. When I came home, I noticed a big van on my driveway with the shelter name on it. A man was just getting out and asked me if this was my house, and obviously, I said yes.

Never say yes. Tell them to get a warrant. Now that they have been inside your home the guy can make up what ever story he wants to get a court order to remove your dogs. It's painfully obvious he already had his mind made up....

You may want to contact a lawyer and maybe even have your dogs stay with a friend until you find out exactly what is going on.

That's just beyond odd. I would be investigating this extremely closely, both as to why a person called this in the first place and also why someone who does't have the common sense of a rabbit (because seriously, what rabbit would be freaking out in front of a dog like that?) is an AC officer. The dude is just asking to get bit with that sort of behavior and then the person who owns that particular dog is in for a world of heartbreak and trouble.

Since you're "dating" a police officer, maybe you can ask him for some advice about the situation. At least make him aware of it in case anything weird happens with the shelter guy. Please don't ever let a stranger in your house again!!!
