I particularly like Savage Garden and Darren Hayes veery much.I think that his voice is like an angel's.And the lyrics are great.I'm a big fan of his.I really am a part of a fanclub.
But I pretty much enjoy other artists too. Like Celine Dion and every hit that is played these days...

I play the piano, classical and classics and old boogies. Love really old music..esp duets. I listen to r&b, especially like to listen to the fishfry, on Fri and Sat night on public radio. That's about my favorite. Like to hear chellos or violin solo anything.

I grew up listening to everything, but I do like country music. Everything from John Denver to Toby Keith to Lonestar, etc.

Oh, and I forgot......I don't really like Country. My mom and brother hate it, so I've grown up hating country too.....no offence to anybody, but I do NOT like country.

(LOL My 9yr old brother is in the livingroom going, "Go I.U! Go I.U!" and my mom was like, "Ok, you can just leave this house and you are grounded for a week. I don't want you in this house if you are cheering for I.U." (She said that in a joking manner.) We are big Purdue fans here. lol Anybody who likes I.U. is crazy in our eyes. lol And Wesley likes them! !)

I love all kinds of music, 70's, jazz, gospel, rock (if its pretty), I can tolerate country but only for short periods, the old country was better. And I love hearing Sax solos.
I just love music watever it is, except I HATE rap and that heavy metal stuff they try to pass off as music, the stuff that is screaming and truely need no talent to do it and the the I hate the world and everyone in it using every 4 letter word they can think of songs and calling it music. Awful.

ROFL!! Sounds like our family - my Dad's a Purdue engineering grad.

I'm with you on the country, too, although there are a few I like every now and then (Big & Rich comes to mind).

I play the violin and French horn and absolutely love classical music, especially fugues, the Baroque period and any of the Russian composers, but I really love just about anything - with the glaring exception of country. There's even quite a bit of rap music I like. Then there's everything from Johnny Cash to Type O Negative; Long John Baldry to Sophie B. Hawkins; Andrea Bocelli to Nick Cave; Tom Waits, Taj Mahal, Chili Peppers, Ben Harper, Chronos Quartet; from Bonnie Raitt and Lucinda Williams to Dido, Lorena McKinnet and Tori Amos . . . oh, and I adore Celtic music - I can just drift off into a trance listening to it! I like most fusion, but there's one group of fusion musicians that I can listen to for hours on end called The Afro-Celtic Connection.

;) I guess it's easier to list the ones I don't like!

Oh, and I also forgot to add: I love Jazz. And I also don't like the music that has non-stop screaming. (Haste the Day and Under Oath come to mind for that one.) My brother has those CDs and they are non stop screaming. The band part is good, but I told Jake that he better not be listening to that in the morning or something or I'd think somebody was being murdered. lol Only some screaming I like, and it can only be for short intervals with sing before and/or after it.

I like to listen to lots of different kinds of music. If it's catchy, I like it. However, I LOVE rock music from the Nirvana era through the mid-90s. I miss Stone Temple Pilots, Soundgarden, all those bands from that time even though the lead singers have all gone on to form new bands. I do like a lot of newer rock bands like Velvet Revolver, Audioslave, Sevendust, and Korn (well, they are not new but they're still great!). STP and Korn have some awesome greatest hits CDs out, if you haven't and you're a fan I suggest you check them out! I also like some jazz, especially big band. I can't say that I like these younger singers who are coming out these days, there's not a lot of originality there. My husband and I absolutely hate "bubble gum rock" as we call it - Bowling for Soup, Simple Plan, Good Charlotte, etc. Hope I'm not offending anyone, just my own preference. I'm more into ANGRY rock!! Good aggression therapy, LOL.

I'm a lover of all music. Depending on my mood.....rock, soft jazz (have a friend that plays in a club in Pgh. that is the BEST soft jazz around) classical...country (yep, do a mean two-step) From my wilder youth....to my last concert was Josh Grobin this past Aug. I just love all music. Rap....I'm still on the fence, but always open minded. :)
