They're not a good fit for me right now, but someday they probably will be and when they are I shall have a herd of tiny minions.

Real answer: Love smaller breeds. I doubt I'd have a dog over around 50 lbs.

Hank is about my favorite size at around 20-25 lbs.

Papillons also rock and are amazing dogs.

They're fine, but not my type.

They are too....breakable to me. I need a rough and tumble dog that I can take anywhere and do anything with.
I don't really like it when I see the 5 pound chihuahuas super overwhelmed with meeting Leo, a medium-sized dog who is just calmly sniffing them. There is just too much that can go wrong in my opinion, when they are so small and everything else is so big.

So, I will absolutely pet and have fun with my friends toy dogs, but I would never own one myself.

I never understand how someone can have an opinion on "small dogs" in general, they vary so much. I like a lot of smaller breeds but generally prefer large dogs because of their squishyness, deterrent qualities, etc.

As a rule, I usually prefer larger dogs. And if honest, Knarly will probably be my last for a long time...I try to never use the word never, as they say but I will be sticking with just Ro and Rip for quite some time after Knars time has come.

Saying that, Knar has been the light during many dark times and was one of the best dam* choices I ever made.

After owning Siri, I look at a lot of comments that people make about small dogs and go....eh hehehehe.

I adore small dogs. And big dogs. And medium sized dogs. I LIKE DOGS!

I like some breeds of small dogs, but probably won't have any until I feel the need to downsize (like when I'm 60). I just prefer larger dogs because they don't get lost underfoot, and I like to be able to touch them without having to lean over.

That said, small dogs have nice qualities like being able to sit in your lap (without squishing the life out of you) and jumping up into your arms (without bowling you over).

Depends, I don't care for some at all, not of fan of any with "people" ish flowing hair or poodle things, or brachy breeds. I don't know that I would ever own a super small dog, but would be alright with a 15-20 pound terrier of some sort. It seems like many are rather loud though. Generally prefer a larger dog.

I generally prefer big dogs but somehow I ended up with three littles. I love my dogs. They have big dog personalities. They do everything my pit bulls do. They are fun.

I love most terrier breeds. I think something in the mid 20-30 pound range and scruffy is perfect. The yorkies are too small honestly but they aren't the fragile type. They're all very durable and I'm not afraid that they're going to break bones if they jump off the bed. Penny is about 7 lbs right now and Gremlin is 3.7. I think she'll be in the 7 lb range full grown as well.

Now, aside from terriers, there are several toy types that I don't care for. Anything flat faced and most white, fluffy things. I just don't care for the looks of white dogs.

All that said, I love dogs and could probably love individuals of any breed.

And having these little dogs, I always wonder why older peoe get them for lap dogs. They are not lap dogs. Bayleigh was surrendered to the shelter for being too much for an older lady. Penny was owned by an older couple. These Yorkies are wild and crazy things! The complete opposite of a lap dog.
