We're at our limit here - 4 dogs. Nothing else.

On my own, who knows. Honestly. I definitely want to add a cat, though.

I love our numbers right now and plan on keeping them where they are.

3 dogs - two in my sig and we took in a senior standard poodle a few months back. I also usually have a foster hanging around. This week it's a dog I'm petsitting
3 cats - definitely can't handle anymore, love them, but no room for more litter boxes.
3 horses - one is retired, one is my daughter's pony, one is my upcoming hunter.

I didn't purposely do three of each, just kinda worked out that way and it's turned out well.

Right now I'm at my current limit- 2 dogs and 2 cats.

When circumstances allow, I plan on adding another dog, but in order to make sure I'm as flexible as possible and can spend the most quality time with my individual dogs, I think that'll be my max.

I have one dog but I can handle two dogs, one has to be a toy though. I want to add a rabbit to my household, or maybe a couple of rats. So dogs, two at the moment, as for non dogs, probably up to three.

I think 2 dogs is probably my limit. I only have one currently but spend a day or two a week over at my dads house with their 2 dogs (Lily and Buddy) making it 3 dogs to live with. 3 is a bit much... when it was just Jackson & Lily, things seemed a bit easier. Once they added Buddy who they adopted, it seemed to be a lot more work than two. I mean, not extremely hard. But... different.

With 3, sometimes it can be awkward if I'm there by myself. Whenever I go outside, I can easily bring two on the leash with me, but 3 makes it harder but I hate to leave just ONE behind in the house. Things like that. The feeding routine doesn't bother me, etc. Since only one dog is mine, it works out over there with 3, but I could never handle all 3 by myself successfully.

Two dogs is my ideal. Not a cat person, so no cats. I don't really have any desire to own any other animals.

Two dogs is ideal for me. With three, there's often somebody who gets left out of things no matter how much we try to make it equal, and four is a lot of work (I found anyway). I can do three or four without a problem, but I just find two to be an easy, perfect number and is my preference. But, that also could be just because I happen to have three very young dogs at once. Maybe three or four would be easier if my crew were split up in age a little better... and if I had a larger house (our current house is pretty small). More land instead of the little yard we have now would make a difference as well.
I've noticed this at my dads place too!

With the 3, sometimes two dogs will be playing, and the third wants in, but it just doesn't really work with 3. Or something. It can be a little much. Luckily, I don't live there full time. It's nice to visit though, Jackson is so much happier living with doggy friends.

1 dog.

Nothing else. I've realized through working in a dog daycare (and dog sitting on the side) for a little over 2yrs now that I have a hard time sharing attention. When I'm at work I focus on one dog for about 10 minutes and just rotate throughout the day. When I dog sit, having more than one dog to take care of just gives me mad amounts of anxiety. I can do it no problem, however it stresses me out because I feel like they aren't being completely fullfilled. I admire those who can manage a multi dog household, but still baffled as to how. I also have a huge favouritism problem and that's unfair as well. Heck, I have a favourite dog at the daycare I work at that is almost impeding me getting a dog because I love that mutt so dang much I worry about comparing my own, actual dog to him! We're bonded (he comes every day and I spend 6-8hrs with him) so it would cause an issue. LOL

Other pets, zero. I love my cat to death however I will not get another one. She's special and I love her, but I find cats to be a burden otherwise. I've have multiple other small animals before (degus, hamsters, budgies, snake, iguana) and find them to be a burden also. I love cats and other animals that I do not own, though. I enjoy interacting with them as long as they aren't a responsibility of mine.

3 dogs is my ideal.

I could do 6 cats no sweat. I love cats, and will most likely end up having only cats in the future.

I don't want any more small animals after the rats pass on.

I would like to get a large parrot.

So, my limit would be 3 dogs max, up to 6 cats, and a parrot.

I'd like to have a fish tank eventually, but they seem difficult to maintain.

Oh, I wanted to add another reason I have a low limit- If need be, I need to be able to take all my animals somewhere, find someone to watch them, move with them easily, etc. and I can't do those things if I have 12 dogs, 20 cats, and 17 hamsters.

Right now it's 1 dog, 4 cats, 2-4 hamsters and fish. My parents pay for the dog's and cat's stuff except for toys and such. But I currently have two hamsters that I par for though I could handle another one or two (or a mice/gerbils in their place). I have two betta fish right now but I'm cycling a divided 10 gallon at the moment which will leave room for one more (it's divided 3 ways) and I have a cycling 20 gallon that may be home to a Ram and some Corydoras soon or some other kind of fish.

I do have big dreams for when 'I grow up' though. :D
