My favorite breed is definitely the Chihuahua (obviously, can't you tell? :rofl1: ).

I also love Border Collies, but chis will always be my favorite.

Yours?

I don't like ALL Pugs believe it or not... Pretty much just the cute ones like Izzie.

I love Cardigan Corgis, Standard Poodles, and Norbottenspets.

But i guess Pugs really ARE my heart breed. I don't think i'll ever not have one.

Kelpies, there is just something about them. I wanted a BC this time around because Buster's personality is so kelpie and this time I just wanted something that had more of the attitude of wanting to work just to work. Something a bit softer.

Honestly? Mutts. I love the uniqueness of them--that no one else will ever have a dog just like mine.

Every dog my family and extended family has ever had has been a mixed breed from a shelter, and it will likely stay that way.

I always thought Dobermans were my favorite. But Chihuahuas are also my favorite. Oh! And Poodles are my favorite, as are GSD (the old fashioned kind). And let's see....mutts, depending on the individual, are my favorite too. Of course, everything depends on the individual. Another favorite would be Labs and Goldens. Oh! looking out the window right now at my daughter's apt, I see two big English mastiffs walking by. They're my favorites too. LOL. It looks like I can't come up with just one favorite. But Dobermans do have an extra special place in my heart.....................as do Chihuahuas and....:rofl1:

american pit bull terriers.

i think that i may be growing away from them a bit in terms of them being a good fit for my lifestyle and for what i want in a dog, but i cannot imagine another breed that makes me smile the way a happy, exuberant, in-your-face bulldog makes me smile.

I'm going to have to say the pit bull, and echo exactly what elegy said... although I'm *hoping* my life will eventually move in the direction where they will be the PERFECT fit.

That being said, my basset is my heart dog. I just have plotts because at this point, they're comfortable and I understand them ;)

Wire-haired fox terrier, papillon, chinese crested, TFT, and chihuahua.

I never have been much of a fan of large breeds but if I had to pick a favorite large breed it would be English Mastiffs.

It's a hard question! With so many different answers.

Some of the breeds I am loving right now are - Paps, Hungarian Vizsla, Tibetan Terrier, Mini Poodle...

And of course I love the Chis. I also completely lust over the saluki, but I don't think I could own one.

Oh - I have a real soft spot for Rotties too.

I have SO many breeds I see, or read about, etc that I just love yet some of these breeds I don't think I'd actually OWN even though I love them. If that makes sense.

For medium-big dogs, I really love Australian Shepherds, Golden Retrievers and German Shepherds.

At the point I'm at in my life though, small dogs are gonna have to win. With me being in college and soon-to-be apartment and/or house renting shopping, small dogs usually are easier to find a place for. Plus I travel a TON *with* my dogs and it's sooo much easier with small dogs. Jackson is between 15-16lbs and 18-20lbs is probably the biggest I'd go currently.

I've really fallen in love with the Papillon just because I love their versatility and their athleticism. That's what I look for in a small dog, one that is up for adventures and doesn't wanna lay around all day. Every time I meet a Boston Terrier, it makes me want one. They are all just sooo friendly. I'm usually not a big fan of brachycephalic dogs in general but for some reason, I just love the Boston (well-bred ones, I've seen some crappily bred Bostons).

However, I really keep going back to the Silky Terrier which Jackson may or may not be (he was supposed to be a Yorkie, but I've had 5 reputable Silky breeders now tell me they are almost positive he is a Silky). Through my research, I've just fallen in love. I love that they don't shed (I am NOT used to having shedding dogs anymore and have gotten comfortable with the no hair on clothes deal). I love that they don't have the fragility of the Yorkie but they still have pretty hair (even tho I keep him really short, it's soo shiny and pretty and soft!) I love that they are athletic, want to be with their family at all times, they are very active yet not hyper. I dunno, just everything I've seen/read about them... love it. I always find myself looking at other breeds, but coming back to the Silky.

I'll likely have papillons until the day they send the coroner.
Same! I can't imagine life without at least one of those cute, somewhat insane little dogs. They're just so fun. They don't make a better constant companion than a papillon.

Toy poodles. Just adore them. Sadly dont own one currently, havnt in about 5 years, Wish I did. But in good time.

I really only have 3 dogs I would really care to own, GSD, Collie and toy poodle. Dont mind others, but these 3 are what Im sticking with personally. Although SO wants a rottie, we will see.
