The only reason we were taxed is that we lived in a very small town and the tax accessor knew we had dogs !! So much per dog and different if they were spayed or neutered . Sure would help the backyard breeding if people were hit in their pocketbooks !
yeppers, here is davis county we have the animal control do random checks and if you do not have a license for over 3 pups they can and do take them. as well as any dog over 4 months over needs to be licensed and rabies shot updated and all, we have seen the animal control alot lately. and i think it is a good thing.

I have never heard of such things as limits or dog taxes. How do they know how many animals you have?
i do not know about other places, but here in davis county utah, you are suppose to license your pups that are over 4 months old, they ask for your address and such when you do this, and we also have animal control do "suprise checks" all the time, and if you are in violation you get tickets up to and including removing the pups. :yikes::mad:... that is one reason my hubby and i will wait til we own our own property in the country some where and have a "dalmation plantation" LOL just kidding. but, we do want to add more pets soon.

Its 4 dogs, and 19 cats. They raised the cat limit because my city euthanizes more cats than any city in the State of CA. and probably the US.

I am over both those limits lol.

They don't really care though, nor check.

Legal limit is two unless you live in the country. Then I have no clue. I have three dogs and a cat but if anyone asks Miley is a rare breed of fluffy cat.

I don't know about any state limits in Oklahoma. In Tulsa county, you can have 3 altered dogs. If you want to own unaltered, or more than 3, you have to meet some requirements, and you have to get a kennel exemption. In the city I live in (which is in Tulsa county, but evidently not governed by county rules), you can have 3 dogs.

I live in small town rural Iowa. We don't have a limit as far as I know. Some of the cities close to us require a liscensing fee every year, but I am sure they don't have a limit either.

I think the dog limit here is 4. I have absolutely no idea what the cat limit is, as I don't have cats.

For me it's six animals, but no more then three dogs or three cats (so you can't have four dogs and two cats). Any more then that you need a kennel license, which I have.

I've always said that I'll never have more animals that are "mine" then my city limits allow...but I'll never put a limit on the number of fosters I'll have...

Here it is 3 dogs, not sure how many cats. I'm over by one dog, but so far have not had any issues, and all of mine are registered. A person that works at the clerks office lives right down the street from me and knows I have 4, so I'm thinking if I was going to have an issue I probably would have some time ago.

No idea. Where would one go about finding this info?

I heard there was a limit of like 4 intact dogs in this county, but didn't know about altered dogs or cats.

Fauquier County - no limit on cats or other animals except:
Up to four dogs may be kept as pets on any property. On properties 2.0 acres or larger in size, up to 12 dogs may be kept as pets provided the dogs are penned or restrained so as not to roam within 40 feet of the property line.

I don't think there are any limits in Prince William County, I haven't found any information about it. I think I may call and find out though.

in my town its 5dogs per adult human (not home) (adult anyone over 18) so one home with a adult couple and an 18yr old living at home COULD have 15 dogs at a time, HOWEVER they all have to be lisenced and if you have more than 2 intact females or breed (including sire owners) more than 2 litters a year you have to get your kennel lisence.

i dont belive there is a limit on cats, if there is noone enforces it as i know a woman with 26 (shes very open about how many she has) and no-oens said anything to her.
