I occasionally browse a chihuahua forum, and this Katie Puff bed is extremely popular with people on there.

This bed starts at $189 (size small) and goes up to $279 (extra large) :yikes: It's covered in chenille.

I've had "burrow" beds made from chenille in the past, and they ended up falling apart during their first trip in my washing machine.

We have 5+ beds scattered throughout the house. The one that gets the most use is the Pei Pod (egg bed). Besides Rylie using it, the dogs would rather be on our furniture.

So... is this Katie Puff worth it? It just looks like a chenille dog bed, but maybe I'm missing something

Here's a link to the bed:

Yea, there's no way I'd spend that much on that bed. It says something about memory-something stuffing, but still.

Me neither. I think I spent $60 on my Pei Pod (they're usually $120), but it's hard plastic, looks nice, and the cushion can easily be washed and changed out.

Wouldn't be worth it to me. But I also can't understand how some people buy $50 tags and $150 collars when the $5 versions of the items do the same job. Just personal preference/style choices.

I'm sure some people would have their minds blown that I spend $30 on a planner for the year, when Target offers ones in their $1 aisle.

Yeah seems a bit excessive to me. But I wouldn't spend anything over $15-$20 maybe on a bed, considering Jackson is usually on the furniture anyway. :p I have a few of those $10 Walgreens beds lying around that do just fine.

But yeah people think I'm crazy that know I've spent over $60 on a collar!

So, I guess to each their own. I will say though on toy dog forums, sometimes the things people pay big money for do shock me.

I'm sure they are looking in like "WHY ARE PEOPLE SPENDING THAT MUCH ON PACO COLLARS?! THEY DON'T EVEN HAVE BEDAZZLED LETTERS!"

I have seen stranger on small breed forums :rofl1: but yea, I don't get it.

That looks a little extreme to me! My dogs would also hate that style though lol.

I spent $70 or $80 on Quinn's bed and it was a big jump for me - previously my most expensive dog bed had been $40. I love it though and I know it will last years. My next dog will likely be a size up, so if I want to get them matching beds it'll probably run me closer to $100 after tax and all. I don't think I'd go over $100.

If it was a super awesome bed, I'd consider spending a good bit. Then again, I do buy $100 collars and $50 tags... I also want to have a tree house bedroom for my future child :p.

If the bed was multi level or nicely themed I'd spend $200... But that just looks like a typical dog bed.

I officially bought Gage his most expensive dog bed this weekend, it was $50, it's a west paw and was half price at Marshall's lol. No way I'm paying 100 for something for the dog to lay on in his crate.

I agree, sometimes I get spending the extra money, sometimes I don't. Same goes for dog clothes. Why the heck is puppia so expensive? I have one shirt and its the same quality and her zack and zoey shirts but regular price was $60, not the $15 I paid.

This is Penn's captain bed :D I got it for free ..I paid $20 for the stain. My dog trainer made it for his old dog& then she hurt her leg before he finished it. She can't climb up into it anymore.

That is effing awesome!

We've got... three beds around here. One I made out of junk pillows, spare fleece and a cardboard box. It sits in our living room and gets used sometimes. Second, I made out of a laundry basket, junk pillows, and spare fleece. Is in our bedroom and gets used if I kick Rider off the bed. Harlow has a bed her grandma got her for Christmas that is quite nice and was about $60... She uses it all the time. I would definitely get another one.

I couldn't see myself spending more than $60 on a bed unless it was one like Penny has where it was boxed in and everything. The ones in the OP look like normal beds to me and I wouldn't spend that kind of money on them. Lol!

Yikes! Way too expensive for my taste. Then again, our golden's bed is just an old pillow/sham my husband gave him to use when I was out of town. Oh well, it works. My border collie had a $30 Target dog bed. Otherwise the floor or their kennel sufficed.

I love that! Hmm I'm going to search kijiji for an old end table and make a cool bed for the little dogs/cats for the living room!

For me that's a bit much for a bed! Especially since it looks so.... ordinary. Like some of the nice memory foam beds I can understand for dogs with joint problems and whatnot. But even those aren't usually THAT expensive.

My dogs are just as happy curling up on an old fleece blanket, so beds just aren't something that I feel the need to splurge on.

I think it looks comfy but no way I'd spend that much on it.

A while back, I bought Em a memory foam bed from Petsmart. Normally $90 and I got it half off. She had it less than a week and it broke down in the middle where she lays. I took it back and she's had a pile of blankets ever since. So much easier to wash that way!

No way would I spend that much on a bed. She sleeps on the furniture and she has 3 beds I've gotten from doing reviews, so it's just not practical.
But then again, to each their own. Lots of people can't see spending $80 on a Paco collar!:lol-sign:

I wouldn't spend that much on a dog bed, but to each their own....Honestly I think it's crazy how much people will spend on collars and tags, BUT I own two leashes that were $50+ a piece and will spend lots on money on dog toys and treats--it's all in what's important to you.

In the interest of full disclosure I spent a little over $100 today on plastic model horses, so I can't bring myself to be too judgy when it comes to how people spend their money--lol.

I couldn't imagine spending that much. I buy Dukes beds from Costco - they're huge and only 30 dollars. I buy new ones once the older ones loses it's "floof", but thats only every 1-2yrs. I don't think I'll ever spend over 50 bucks for anything to do with dog accessories. I spent 55 bucks on a collar once and it was a POS. Money wasted. I'll just stick to my cheap stuff!
