The only breed I've owned that I actually remember is a boxer. And I can honestly say I will never be without one. Molly is just the best dog, even when she was still in her puppy-ish stage, she knew who she could play rough with and who she had to be gentle with. She's so smart, so obedient, and so sweet. We have friends/family members who are afraid of dogs but they absolutely love Molly. We have neighbors who always comment on how wonderful she is, and how they want to steal her...lol. She is just wonderful so I hope she is the typical boxer. :D

Border Collie, for sure! ^^ Gonzo is the perfect dog for me, no other dog comes close. He knows what I'm thinking and what I want from him without having to say anything, and he learns everything almost immediately. He is also extremely bonded to me, and vice versa.

I think it's harder when you've had mixes.. Often times, it's hard to get a dog even remotely like them again. If there was such a breed as a "Shiner Dog" I would undoubtedly have them for the rest of my life.. I've met lovely Lab/Chow mixes but none were quite as regal and wise as Shiner... but I guess that's what makes rescues in particular so special - they're all one of a kind. :)

These post are making me wonder....does it have much to do with the breed? It seems like most everyone loves their current dog's breed the most. Are we just devoted to our dogs and thus devoted to their breed? Hmmmmm makes me wonder.

I have grown up with German Shepards my whole life since I can remember and Sachem was the best boy ever :) loyal and very protective of me. I have also had a pitbull/lab mix Baron who was wonderful and a GSD/husky mix that my parents now have named Bandit who is a sweet old boy. But I down-sized a bit and wanted the same type of high drive, high energy, smart, protective breed but in a smaller package (not to small), low and behold my ACD :D

I've only ever had one purebred (well, she's apparently a purebred), and I have to say I do love Maltese. She has such a great personality, you can't help but fall in love with her (even more so than the other ones). They're great dogs :D.

I've only owned 3 breeds in my life too and as individual dogs, my current dog Jesse is the most amazing dog I've had so far.

However if we're speaking only of breeds and not individual dogs, I'd say it's a very hard choice between Irish Setters and Old English Sheepdogs. Both were amazingly gentle and fun, the OES loses a few points for it's coat because it's so high maintanence, but the Irish Setters were extremely energetic, which is not something I want in a dog anymore.....Hmmm...I always use to say the IS was my favourite of the three but now I think I'm leaning towards the Old English Sheepdog. :D

Yup, my favourite of the breeds I've owned is the Old English Sheepdog.

Besides the high maintanence coat which is a downer for me....they're fun, friendly, not too active (but active enough) intelligent and have a great sense of humour.

Ok..after typing all that I'm wishing I could get another one. LOL **remember the coat Cass....remember the coat!**

Puma. She is my 2 year old female Rhodesian Ridgeback. Her and I just have a bond that is very different from the others. She has been the smartest dog. Very tricky. She is the total Ridgeback package. Sometimes I swear she knows what I am thinking.
