I had someone run across the street screaming "wolf" when I was out with my sable shepherd. That was pretty hilarious :lol-sign: . I get the wolf comment alot, but this women was acting as if aliens were taking over the world.

At petsmart the other day, an employee asked me if Baby, my fifty pound Great Pyrenees 6 month old, was a shihtzu.

Another time, we were walking the chis when a man asked us if our dogs were "a family." Chloe was a puppy at the time, and the man asked if Rylie and Madison were the parents. Yes, this mysterious blue merle puppy came from 2 obviously non merle parents.

Oh, and then there's the teacup thing... "Is she a teacup?"

I've heard a variety, but the two that stand out the most to me were, well the first one isn't about Ella, but it's about a dog that we were considering adopting.
He was an american bulldog/pit bull mix.
I met the lovely foster mom at a public park where we attempted to introduce Ella and Tyson (the dog we wanted to adopt).
We were allowing children to come up and pet him because he was SUCH an awesome dog. Well, anyway, this lady comes up and asked how old he was and we told her 6-8 months old and she asked what kind of dog he was to which his foster mom replied, "We think he's either an american bulldog/pit bull mix or a boxer/pit bull mix."
The lady then says, "OH! I was going to say, that's not a full pit because pits have those teeth that curl down over their bottom lips."
We didn't correct her because we were absolutely speechless. I told his foster mom that I didn't realize that I had a pit bull/sabertooth tiger mix.
Wow.

One that was about Ella's breed came from my dear mother-in-law (who honestly IS a great lady, she just doesn't understand that a pit bull is a dog and not some super creature).
We were talking about dogs that were NOT pit bulls. Their GS was on the floor rolling around with my father-in-law and she says to me that "Sam couldn't hold on if he bit someone because he needs to breathe. Pit bulls, however, CAN hold on because they don't need to breathe."
Like...pit bulls have some secondary airway that other dogs aren't gifted with.

I had to chuckle. I simply told her that pit bulls can hold on because of their tenacity and determination. Not because they're any physically better or "improved" than any other breed.
Sheesh. People make me laugh.

Someone looked at Athena and said "its just a matter of time before she turns on you"....10.5 years and maybe a couple of dirty looks

Some guy insisted that Sal was a Boston Terrier....He even argued with me and said "we had Bostons when I was growing up and I know a Boston terrier when I see one". Keep in mind that Sal is 67lbs. :lol-sign: I offered to show him Sal's papers and he said breeders will write anything down

A lady once told me that Tiku, because she is so vocal, must be more jackal than wolf... Y'know, because huskies are a result of a jackal/wolf cross.

This lady had a husky too! What an idiot! :yikes:

When I was a kid and I walked my 3 month old Neapolitan Mastiff puppy, someone asked me if he was a pot bellied Big.

Then we had a bloodhound, and someone insisted that this big, huge dog was a beagle mixed with a german shepherd. We sat outfront my driveway and argued for an hour and a half until I showed her the paperwork.

Then there was Chububa (strange name, i know), and he was a 10 pound merle chihuahua. Someone asked me if he was a harlequin dane puppy. I told her he was 6 years old, and she said 'Oh, so he was just a dwarfed runt of the litter?'. Some people.

And now I have 2 huskies. People come up to me freaking out telling me I shouldn't have wolf hybreds, and once someone asked me what I was feeding my VERY pregnant foster dog (it's clear she was pregnant, the women though she was just obese).

I had a lady argue with me that Kaiden could not possibly be a JRT. He was obviously a westie cross. Not about my dog specifically, but I had another woman argue with me that there are now no such things as JRTs, they are all PRTs now. Hmmm I guess no one told that to us JRT breeders and owners.

I just get asked if Hannah is one of those retired racing dogs.

Not so much lately, but when she was real thin after her surgery. Still, her head should be an obvious clue that she's not a greyhound, no matter how thin her body was.

And of course, when my harle boys were still alive, people would actually argue with me that they were part dalmation because Great Danes did NOT come in that color. I guess the GDCA was lying to everyone all along.

Someone once argued with me that Thunder could not possibly be a German Shepherd, because he has two GSDs and they "don't have that much black on them".

my aboslute favorite one was when out with vixie and dodger and ruby...
someone told me my pitbull puppy was going to eat my poodle and pomeranian, because there mean this woman then proceded to tell me that my pitbull puppy was too young to be away from its mother, then asked me why i use a straightening iron and cut my poodles hair that way...
she then proceded to tell me im a terible dog owner because im putting my other dogs at risk and "killing" my poodle by cutting its hair funny and straightening it!

now, this young pitbull puppy is actually dodger my 2yr old 3lb longhaired chihuahua...and my "poodle" is actually a chinese crested, and my pom, a 5lb long haired chihuahua...

some people make me want to hit my head on a wall!
