I think this may have been done before, but not terribly recent, so here it is again.

What all CAN you play and what DO you play regularly?

I can play:
-piano
-violin/viola
-irish whistle
-hammered dulcimer
-bass guitar

I do play the violin and piano. Next up is the whistle, but I keep losing my little book so I can't practice too much.

I play piano and flute. Flute is definately my favorite, I'm working on a solo for a contest now :)

EDIT: I play piccolo too, but that's just basically a mini flute :D

I played the French Horn for six years and the piano for at least 10. I'm not sure how many it was altogether. I got up to grade eight in the royal conservatory. I don't play any instruments anymore but I'd like to learn the guitar.

Hey Zoom...
I play guitar, bass guitar, Mandolin, and drums. Can also play a piano a bit, but I don't really claim to be able to play piano.

The guitar is my main instrument, been playing for about 18 years and been in bands for the last 15 years or so. Here's a link to my current bands myspace page. www.myspace.com/havocdin We need to record some new songs, the ones that are on our myspace page were a few demo's we recorded about 2 years ago. Not very proud of them........

I would love to learn the guitar, but I have problems finding one with a skinny enough neck that I can wrap my hand around it properly.

JFrick: You play the mandolin? That's awesome!

I have small hands so some guitars are hard for me to play too....Ibanez guitars probably have the smallest necks. My main guitar though is a Gibson Les Paul Classic with the 60's neck. That neck is pretty small, especially for a Gibson.

Anyway, yeah, the mandolin is actually easier to play than guitar. Chords are so much easier to play, it's just a matter of getting used to the tuning. Mandolins are tuned the exact same way as a Violin..

Bass and flute. I can do Hot Cross Buns on clarinet, and Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star and piano, but I dont think those count. :p Would love to have my cousin teach me to play sax- been wanting to learn how for about 4-5 years.
Would also love to lean guitar and drums.

Well, piano is my main instrument... have been playing since I was very young. I can play the organ but not that accomplished on that...(the foot petals) The technique is different because of how the notes sustain on the organ. The harpsicord I love for Bach and other Baroque music(before they invented a piano)....very cool plucking instrument. I would love to get one. They have kits that you can build yourself. Still quite expensive.

The banjo (although not terribly accomplished) and harmonica, which is not a big deal.

And voice...I guess that's an instrument if you really think about it. LOL.

I mentioned this before, but I'm a third-generation saxophonist. My grandfather played in an Army jazz band during World War II. I myself have been playing for about 15 years now. I play both alto and tenor.

I also played recorder in elemetary school. :D But hey, I was awesome at it! I even got to play for the governor when he came and visited our school on one memorable occassion. There aren't too many kids that can play classical musical (complete with vibrato), on an $8 plastic recorder, LOL.

But then I didn't play it for 10 years or so (after I got into saxophones), so now I'm awful. :p

I played the cello for 8 years, but its been a couple years since I've picked one up. One day, when I'm no longer a poor college student:p , I'd like to buy one and pick it up again.

I can't read standard notation either.....tried at one point then found out that the guitar is one of the hardest instruments to play while sight reading b/c the same notes appear all over the guitar's neck, so I didn't bother. I read tablature which is how I learned the scales and chords. I've now got the ability to just play by ear.....

Violin and French horn. I took piano, only because when we moved east there were no violin teachers . . . despised it heartily. Too far removed from the music. I got up and walked out in the middle of playing my recital piece for my final . . .

Now, to get that electric five string violin I am pining for and knock the rust off of my fingers . . .
