for the past couple years I've been feeding Innova. both my dogs just do NOT like it. I don't mind mixing in canned food to make it 'brothier' (which isn't a real word, but you know what I mean) :) I want a quality food, even if I have to buy it online (since the ONE reliable feed store doesn't carry anything quality but Innova, and I swear they order it only for us at this point...and this store is a 60 mile drive) I want them to enjoy eating. no...I'm not going to feed raw. I like the ease of kibble, with some yummy top dressing. I want something healthy, yet want to know what is actually tasty to the dog. ya know....like they WANT to eat (for a change) :) thanks!

Mine have always been good eaters . I do add warm water and mix in " toppings " . I've bought small packets of Pedigree Little Champions for Ollie to take to Camp Bow-Wow , along with his kibble . They said that they will add water . I should probably try one before he goes to see if it agrees with him !

This is a great topic because ive switched a bunch of times and she is only about 2 years old she just wont eat her food or if she does very little. I would really love to know what other husky owners feed there dogs cause mine doesent like her food at all she loves people food but it gives her the runs.I know some of you make your own dog food how do you do this ?

The JRTs love all food, any food. The whippets really only seem to get excited for raw.

Miley refuses to eat unless you hand feed her. Thank goodness she's so little you don't have to feed much. She also has such sensitive teeth that I have to soak her food. I usually buy chicken broth then heat it up and soak her food in that.

Spanky and Bandit always eat a bit of Tuna/Salmon with their kibble. I open up two cans of it, pour the liquid over their kibble, then split a can between them. The other can goes to my cats and Miley Even for Spanky who is a picky eater will eat all his yum yums that way.

Thanks those are some good suggestions Paige. She used to only eat her food out of my hand when she was a puppy to maybe i will try putting something on it or mixing something in.

Hee-hee I tired the small breed tonight !! Ollie sniffed it at first and looked at me as if to say , " I'm not a faggy dog ! " Then ate every bite !

It was always hard to get Bimmer to eat - he just isn't that interested, but the EVO Red Meat is a whole 'nother story. Kharma is the same way. They were fairly indifferent to the regular Innova, better with the original EVO, but they are enthusiastic about the RM. Bimmer even prefers it to raw chicken quarters.

What does he want? Strider loves furry things with four legs and a tail. He has totally cleaned all of the huge disgusting rats out of our woodshed, now he's keen on the raccoons :yikes: Sometimes when I'm thawing out the snake's food I'll do extra rats for him and the cats.

Heheh, Romy . . . . Bimmer's partial to groundhog. And squirrel. And coney. One thing he kills but won't eat is rats. Kharma, however, will eat barn rats.

They both would like to try buzzard someday. They've tried hard enough to score one.

What does Django WANT or what does he eat that I will feed him? He actually gets somewhat excited over his Nature's Variety raw and NV Instinct canned food. What he REALLy goes nuts over is , um, BilJac. We got a sample pack at a show and he gets it as treats. He goes bonkers over it. It's the same thing as waving a Reece's Peanut butter cup in front of my face I guess.

Maddie will eat Anything... Missy my picky girl. She will hardly never eat plain dry dog food, although she did eat EVO more plain than any other dog food. But, after a couple of weeks she wouldn't eat that without toppings either. Just spoiled!
Both will turn kibble down to raw, though. In fact, when I was feeding them both stricly raw, they wouldn't touch kibble if they'd had their meal that day ;)

Um...any? LOL! They both go nuts when I give them some raw chicken quarters, so I'm sure that once we start feeding totally raw, they'll be in heaven. For now though, TOTW seems to get their attention quite a bit and is getting good mileage as treats. They're not as keen on the Kirkland as I was hoping, but oh well. They love their Innova.

Actually the most excited I have ever seen Sawyer get over food was when I had run out of dog food and was cooking up a mix of oatmeal, blueberries and green beans...not the most balanced mix but it's what I had on hand. For Virgo...food is food and thus she loves it. :p

I tried the little packets on Ollie's food last night . Was so funny as he took a bite and then looked up at me , as if to say " Not bad stuff Mom! " I think he saw the words ...small breed when I opened it !
