TOTW rotating between all 3 flavors plus raw supplemented a few times a week. Oh and Camp, they get leftovers too, lol!

Same here, minus the leftovers

I can't even remember what I pay for a bag. I don't have to buy it very often with little dogs. I know it's a good price for the quality, though, and I've been very happy with the food.

Raw with occasional bits of orijen. (LOVE orijen as a kibble)

Cost varies widely depending on sources and what it is. Chicken is pretty cheap down to 40c a pound. But elk or bison costs more. Over all though its cheaper to feed raw to 8 dogs than it is to feed them all orijen.

Currently TOTW Wetlands, though due to potential upcoming import issues I may be switching to Orijen. I also supplement raw rec bones every so often. Finn does very well on this diet. It's $58 for a 30lb bag.

Orijen, rotating between the three formulas, with raw meals here and there - more so in the summer when she can have RMBs outside.

I've used a couple of very high quality kibbles with grain (Innova, Cal Nat) and have tried most of the popular grain-free foods. Grain free is definitely the way to go for Meg, and despite my plans to keep rotating through brands and protein sources of various grain free foods, I haven't found another that she looks or feels as good on as Orijen. With the poultry, fish, and red meat formulas, combined with the raw, I think she gets plenty of variety.

And she gets her fair share of leftovers as well!

Newmans is a good product; I like and buy many products of that brand for myself too. I am a fan of making your own dog food also. It is a good learning activity to involve the kids in so they know what dog food is made of or....what can be used to make it. :)

Seriously, I feed my dog anything that doesn't have bones that could splinter or things like onions -enchiladas, tacos, spaghetti - whatevers left over.
That too -- mainly Kharma. Bimmer's pickier, and Tallulah's digestive system is pickier

They all get any kind of fruits and veggies they want, oranges, grapefruit, limes, apples, tomatoes, turnips . . . pretty much anything but grapes.

My dogs get raw. Benji would do fine on a good dog food, but Daisy does best on raw, it really helps her skin issues and stuff. Plus the act of chewing up all that meat and bone seems to help her feel more satisfied that just eating a bowl of kibble.

My dog will not TOUCH most fruits and vegetables. I have some canned food that was on sale (organic and grain free for 79 cents a can! w00t!) and it has little pieces of veggies in it. He'll eat around the veggies lol. The rally trainer offered him some apple a few days ago, and he refused. She was surprised, so many dogs LOVE apples

Hey that's my idea of their "original" diet...dogs ate scraps...my dog eats kibble and scraps (kibble to make sure she gets the nutritional value), she really loves spaghetti and bacon grease.

California Natural herring and potatoes..
That mixed with Kirkland chicken and rice formula, which is about $25 for a 30-lb bag.

I should also add that, like Camp, my dog gets fed leftovers. If it won't upset his stomach and there's not too much of it (unless it's meat, plain veggies, or rice - he can have all he wants of those) I'll give it to him. Lately I've stopped because my dad is helpfully feeding him everything under the sun (ice cream and cake included) and he's gained some weight. But I usually figure that if what I'm eating is reasonably healthy and it will otherwise go to waste, there is no harm in letting him have it. It adds variety to his diet!

Raw- chicken, beef, fish, moose, deer, butcher scraps, eggs.

Will add some brown rice or potatoes for the winter time.

Look for good sales at the grocer...love our local hunters :)

We don't have leftovers lol. My husband eats 3-4 times what I do and does not gain an ounce. LOL:confused:

Wellness and totw when I can get to it. I can get wellness at the petco here.

I would like to have them on Orijen, but there is no source near me.

I do whole prey raw occasionally.

Notice they love anything with marinara sauce? :rofl1:

Although Kharma does love her salsa tomatilla, or the green salsa made with avocados.

Oh, and she's a fiend for stealing slurps out of my coffee/chickory with cream and dark sugar

Raw meat, bones, and organs because that is what their bodies are designed to eat and digest.

NEVER any fruits, veggies, nuts, grains or any plants whatsoever because they cannot properly digest nor extract nutrients from them in the natural state. If they can't in the natural state, it proves that they have no nutritional need for them.

Ok I feed raw too, and don't feed fruits and veggies (other than as treats) or grains as part of their diet.

BUT the bold is patently, proveably wrong. Fruits can be digested and utilized by canines. Cooked veggies and grains can be digested and utilized by canines. Now if you want to get on to discussing whether they are nessisary, or good.. sure. But to say they can't extract nutrients is dead wrong.

If you study wild canid eating habits (not just wolves) you will find that many do eat fruits and berries in their natural state (not grains though, but then we don't eat grains in their natural state either) They also love to eat tripe which is full of partially digested plant matter.

My dogs DO get tripe at least once a month. Their main diet is raw meat and bones (pork feet, pork hocks, bison necks, chicken backs, lamb/elk ribs etc) This is all they need to be happy and healthy. But I don't lie about how they digest things.

I feel Diamond Naturals Chicken and Rice - I've tried the Lamb & Rice but it wasn't a hit. I get it at TSC for about $28 for a 40lb bag, but I've used their $5/$25 off coupon for the last 2 or 3 bags so I get it for $23.

Mine also get scraps but it is limited to raw chicken/meat scraps and eggs. When I make spaghetti or chicken parm I give them a little bit in their bowls.
