Ok, I am totally bored, have been home sick all day, and am on drugs. Just fyi if this makes no sense.

What does your dog do if you hold their preferred toy and then do not throw it right away for them?

I've been laughing at Mia all day because when she brings the tennis ball and I hold it and don't throw it, she just keeps doing the same thing over and over and over...

First she crouches and stares at me for a few minutes. Then she starts doing the anxious front feet where she slams them down a few times. Then the whining starts. She then sprints up to me and (since I'm on the couch) vaults off the couch, turns around and runs away from me then backwards bounces a few times and waits in a crouch again. She just keeps doing that over and over again.

Of course you all don't torture your dogs like I do, I'm sure. ;)

Jumps on me to take it.

I tell her off.

She sits. Waits about two minutes. Runs off.

Brings me another toy. Drops it on my foot. Waits about two minutes. Runs off.

Repeat.

Well, Cali's favourite toy is also her mini kong ball. I usually make her sit before I throw it, but there's some days when she's just too impatient so she usually follows the following process to attempt to get me to throw it (which never works for her haha):

1) gets in a little playbow pose and kind of stomps down on her front feet
2) her ears go back a little bit and she gives me a death glare haha
3) and if I still don't throw it... then she lets out a series of very high pitched barks that likely disturb the whole town.. but after a few moments, she gets the idea and just sits.

Dekka stares at it. As if she could control my hand with her mind. Then she lies down and stares. She will snark at any dog who gets near and wait with zen like patience.

Riley does an extremely loud bark and hold, aura does a weird backup/croutch thing. If they are together though, she prefers to bark and nip at Riley because he gets so wound up. It's quite a spectacle. Btw this happens pretty much all the time because I do not throw the ball fast enough in their opinion.

Loki would bark at me if she really wanted it. Terra does her woo-woos and a lot of times flops on her side like a fish, almost like she's going to give me a roll-over behavior, then doesn't. LOL!

Ezio has perfected the art of parkour... walls, couches, people.... once you wind up his energy, he is a blazing streak of play.

I gave him the nickname squiggles because he wags his tail so hard as he's running around that his whole body wiggles. I am told that his brother from his litter is nicknamed snake, for similar antics....lol.

Scout does the bark and hold thing too, except its her super high pitched play bark. Sometimes her teeth clack while she's doing it too. And she's kinda boinging while she does it...

Lily just either looks mildly interested and maybe will halfheartedly chase, sniff, and wander off.... or she just looks at me like I sprouted a couple extra heads.

Tallulah sits.

Then she looks at toy, looks at me, raises eyebrow.

Repeat several times.

Mini version of banshee imitation.

Pounces toward me, pokes me with nose, sits, looks at toy, looks at me, raises eyebrow, mini version of banshee imitation.

Louder banshee, pounces ON me, punches me with nose, sits, looks at toy, wails, looks at me, wails, stands on hind legs and does the Dance of Frustration accompanied by the full on Banshee Overture . . .

Z will lose interest, Snipe will make leaps beyond comprehension while squeaking, Kestrel will offer behaviors (down, side, sit, heel, front, etc.) while barking at me, Aeri will sit and bore holes in me for a while, then her teeth will start to chatter, and if I'm stupid enough to tease past that point I usually get pinched with her front teeth. :p

She chirps, growls and makes little squeaky sounds, it's soooo cute. I'll have to get a video of it and show you guys.

Barks, Squeaks, Chirps, Chatters her teeth at me. Then box turns off my shins, then does this little back foot scratching at the ground, then does everything she knows how to do, then hits me. Yup, she'll do anything for a squeaker ball in the house.

Pip will either jump for it, or freeze in a sit stay, eyes shifting from my eyes to the toy.

Maisy just sits or downs and whines, wagging her tail.

Squash does what he does whenever he's not getting his way... paces and barks.

Keena will sit & stare. Forever. Sometimes she'll do a little fidgeting & sit again.

Rage hops around but will eventually lose interest.

My other dogs hate toys. Lol
