What do you want to be when you grow up?

I don't know about ya'll, but at 26 I still have no idea what I want to be when I grow up. Maybe I'm just not meant to grow up.

When I was in Jr. High I wanted to be a vet. Then in high school I worked in a vet clinic and quickly realized that I do not actual want anything in the medical profession. People and animals aren't very considerate and don't get sick during normal business hours of 8-5. I mean seriously, how rude.

Now, now I a job as a professional puppy petter.

I change my career goal from veterinarian to an animator last year. Honestly, I wish I change it sooner. I was so hook on being a veterinarian when I was a child that I did not consider anything else. Reasons why? I don't like science. I find it an extremely boring topic. I like being around animals but not miserable ones. Found that out volunteering at a humane society. Not only do I want to be an animator, but I also want to be the creative director of an animated series. I want my drawn creations to move and I have stories that need telling.

I think, with the right conditions, I could be happy where I am for the rest of my career (I teach 8th grade algebra). It would take the right colleagues and administrators though.

When I retire, I want to open a bed and breakfast by the beach

Really though, I don't know... I thought about nursing, went through school, graduated, decided I hate people. Thought vet tech, went through school, got 2 credits away from done and then went EW SCIENCE. now I'm thinking accountant. We'll see what happens when I get further into school

Vet, Equine/Canine Reproduction Specialist, or Equine/Canine Geneticist. Or all three. They sorta tie in together.

Also thought of Webmaster, Graphics Designer, that sort of thing. Honestly, this is pretty realistic down the road. DH wants to be a video game developer, I'll probably be doing the graphics.

That or owning my own dog focused facility with training, ring rental, daycare, training, and the lot.

The reality leans towards becoming a teacher, for now, we'll see.

Growing up is overrated

I have done many different things through the course of "adult life"

Best time I had was going back to college in my 30ies... Still have no clue what I want to do with myself most of the time

So for now I am a Lab Rat...

Right now I'm an EMT working toward my Paramedic license and I could not be happier.

As for the rest of my life...right now I'm a junior in college and my degree is in biology: I have a few contacts in wildlife management groups and if those pan out I will look for a long-term career working with whatever needs working with (although I'd love to do ungulates...deer, moose, caribou...).

I don't know. I grew up and became a vet tech but I'm not in love with it. I don't really know what my dream career is, I feel like it would be something animal related but maybe not, maybe I've been looking at the wrong things all my life!

Ah well. Too late now lol I can't see myself going back to school unless I HAVE to. Too much freaking money.

I am an RN but I would love to be a lawyer. Really don't want to go back to school so likely not going to happen. I'd love to stay at home and just board some horses but since you just kinda break even that's also not gonna happen!
