***Other!

They've been eating Fromm Duck as the base for a while now but I buy other kibbles to stuff Kongs with, use for training treats, etc. This time I bought TOTW-bison and venison formula.

They also routinely get meat, eggs, and other various foods I happen to feel like feeding. Lately they've been getting a lot of pumpkin... just because I feel like it.

I used to feed all prey-model raw but I haven't gotten back into that routine and at this point, I don't know if I will! The cats get more raw (premade and/or hunks of meat) than the dogs do at this point!

^^^ Brattina^^^ Yeah, I couldn't go back to kibble again.

We have kibble for just in case situations... like when we go out of town and the petsitter comes over. And when we go on vacation with the dogs next month we're probably just going to bring kibble for the convenience factor.

Mine are on raw- premade and some non premade. I'm likely going to have to switch them to kibble/raw though for a while when we go back home.

I had to pick "other", simply because I assume that's where the pasta choice would have been, had such an option not been confusing to the poll topic. ;)

I voted other because I'm trying to figure out what I want to feed Chloe. Right now she's getting "Nutrish" by Rachel Ray. Not the best, not the worst. It's just easy for us to get it at the grocery store.

Also, she was on "kibbles n' bits" when we got her, and after switching her to Nutrish, she is NOTICEABLY healthier. Before she had a dull coat, flaky skin, she was missing hair on her nose and ears, soft poop, and was very skinny. She now has an extremely shiny coat, it's healthy, and very "plush". No more dry skin, or missing/patchy hair, etc. She looks GREAT, has normal poop, and she's a perfect weight.

However, I know she could have better, and I want to switch her to something else. There's a small pet products store close by that sells innova, cannidae, orijen, (probably has things like TOTW, etc), but it would also be convenient to be able to get her food at petsmart (however, not required). I do want to keep her on kibble, though.

DIY raw. They get a wide variety of things.

Lately I have been buying this stuff from a local butcher called "zoo food" Its an adventure every time I open a bag. I am a weirdo so its kind of fun trying to figure out just what is there. I have had spleens, kidneys, livers, intestines, tracheas (with sphincters!) thyroids, cheeks (which are a fave of the dogs even with all the mucous).

They get lots of RMB from all sorts of animals.

If variety is the spice of life, when it comes to food they are highly seasoned.

Both of mine are on Acana Grasslands - grain free. They both look great, and I would recommend it.
They've also been on, and I recommend, Orijen and Before Grain. They're not on it now only because the Orijen was too much for Quinn's baby tummy, and I wanted to try Acana for her and it's easier to have the dogs on the same food.

Raw sounds so interesting to me! I definitely couldn't afford to do premade but because we're fortunate enough to live rurally (and have room for a big freezer) we've realized it would be easy and pretty inexpensive to pick up up a few cows (and other animals) and ship them. Unfortunately we're busy busy and often doing road trips on weekends and/or not at home, so high quality kibble is much more convenient.

Grain free kibble (we feed TOTW..fed the fish formula for over a year with good results, now they're eating the new lamb formula, which they love and are doing well on) with a raw meal once a week or so.

I was a DIY RAW, up until that month long trip in the summer, where it wasnt feasable to camp out and do RAW. So I switched to kirkland for he trip. And really have just been to lazy to re start lol. I WILL restart. Just when Im not to lazy. as I like to buy enough to last about a month. And it takes me hours to bag, label, weight, ect stuff To busy right now.

Suzie is fed Kibble, that has grain in it. Suzie is extremely healthy, has the shiniest fur that always gets commented on, so I figured, why change?

(Our past dog (RIP) lasted 18 years on Kibble and Wet food.)

I feed a rotation of 3 grain free Acanas right now. Plus some meals of Ziwipeak air dried or whatever they call it. Nia does wonderful on these foods but then again she didn't do half bad when she came on Royal Canin either.

In the past I've fed some raw, Orijen, Innova, Wellness, Evo and a few more brands I can't remember.

Best results have been Acana and Orijen, plus I trust the company 100%. If I could afford it, I would feed Ziwipeak everyday but it costs $30 for a 2.2 lb bag so that's only going to be used on occasion.

I said DIY Raw... but really I feed pre-made raw/prey model raw/occasional kibble/fresh foods. :)

I feed Nature's Variety Instinct Salmon maybe a few times a week, just for meals in the tug a jug or buster cube and for training treats. I have a small freezer and can no longer buy RMBs in bulk, so I feed Primal or Nature's Variety pre-made raw for breakfast. For dinner it's either RMBs or kibble or fresh food. The pre-made is barely more expensive than buying prey model not in bulk... as I only buy high quality meats.

I voted "other" since more than half of Sierra's diet is pre-made raw, she also gets quite a bit of BARF style raw, and occasionally high quality kibble and canned food.

Chloe is on Taste of the Wild. I switched off of Canidea. The grain free is really agreeing with her poops (first time in her life she's had firm, dark stools) and she finally eats her food, but she still has the same very slight allergy problems that drive me crazy. Some slight paw licking, some slight itchiness, slightly dirty ears...I'm going to try a different flavor of TOTW (currently on Pacific Stream) and see if that helps or makes everything worse. LOL I can't afford the "high end" grain frees ($70 for a 30lb bag? Seriously?), so we're sticking with what works on my budget.

Rose eats Exceed Lamb and Rice. Basically like Eukanuba Lamb and Rice, only cheap. She's not my responsibility to buy food for, and since it isn't my money being spent I can't pick the food. That was our happy compromise, and she actually is doing very well on it. She's 12 and still kicking. :)

Acana – Lamb and Apple!!

So happy with it. It took me over a year to finally find a food that doesn’t upset my dogs stomach, and he has never been so thrilled about his food as he is for this type. He literally runs to his bowl, dances around it and will do anything for some Lamb and Apple.

We both highly recommend it ! :)

DIY raw mainly here for the boys. They do the get the occasional table scraps (I figure why throw it out if they are willing to eat it, and its not going to hurt them). I am sure I'm not saving as much as I could if I where to stock up on stuff.

Juno is on Blue Buffalo, because it's the first food she's been on that doesn't cause mushy poop and horrible gas.
Lucy is on Nutro Ultra because my mom says so. I don't really mind the stuff though.... and Lucy does well on it.

Pre-made raw is pretty expensive... we spend, I think, $110-120 a month on raw, but it's worth it for the convenience. We were spending $85/month on kibble (Acana grain free) and Emma's canned food (she was on Wellness Puppy canned before we switched), so this isn't much more.

If we did it ourselves, it wouldn't be much cheaper and would be a lot more difficult. I'd definitely do it myself if I had all big dogs... but our largest dog is 35lbs and our smallest is 2.7lbs... so it's still an affordable option for us to do pre-made :)
We used to fees pre-made and making your own turned out way cheaper for us. We are feeding close to the same weight (excluding Cali) and I can buy 150lbs of raw for ~$108 abs that will feed them 4-5 months. Why would it still be so expensive for you to buy in bulk?
