What do you do to minimize shedding? Many people do different things, but what do you prefer to do? I got this idea because I was looking at heavy shedding breeds like GSDs and Goldens.

Daily brushing, monthly baths, and good food. Coconut oil (which I add to my dog's food) helps a bit too :)

Furminators can be really effective for breeds like GSDs and huskies (short double coated or medium coated breeds) but can kind of ruin the hair on longer haired breeds (like goldens).

Regularly grooming/brushing and diet seem to control it the most. If I had a heavy shedding breed I might invest in an industrial hair dryer.

Also stuff like having a good vacuum/hardwood floors and limiting the dog's use of furniture is something I would do.

MY SECRET MAGIC PILL IS FORCED AIR!!!

Seriously, I don't know how I did it before. Frodo like...doesn't shed anymore.

Bow to the forced air gods.

I just brush. Neither of mine really shed though. If it were worse, I'd be back to forced air too, it did wonders at the grooming salon, even without any sort of bath. :D

I love it. When we forced air dry Frodo, you can just watch the hair blow out onto the walls.

Noise really depends on the specific forced air dryers. I know a lot of people have their own, I go to a do it yourself dog wash. The dryer's there are not too loud. We tried a different dog wash and it was really, really loud. It was also a lot more powerful than the one we use now, but it was so powerful that we couldn't do Frodo's hips (he has hip dysplasia) because it hurt them

Frequent baths (in a mild shampoo with conditioner) and frequent brushing. I use a comb, straight pin brush and a slicker right now. This not only helps keeps my allergies in check, but then I also don't have hair everywhere. It currently takes 20 minutes once a week to do a full line brush (girl has some wicked undercoat!) But I do a 5-10 minute brush with the comb probably every two days.

I have yet to discover any secret. I use a curry comb, Furminator, and grooming block (like a pumice stone, intended for grooming horses) for Chalo's short double coat. He pretty much sheds year-round no matter what the season. Priya has a single coat that seems (so far) to be much more low-maintenance in the shedding department.
