hanging in my closet-almost 24 years now! LOL--it hasn't yellowed, but it is enclosed in a blue colored bag. I am not sure what I will ultimately do with it. I may use it for special things for grandkids someday--christening gown, blanket--not sure.

I'm so bad, mine is still hanging up and hasn't even been to the cleaners yet. My wedding was... oh... almost 2.5 years ago... Oops.

Really, though, I've been meaning and meaning and MEANING to get it cleaned and put away properly, but something will happen that prevents me, and I'll forget for a little while, and then the next time I remember something else happens again, etc.

Anyways, back on track.

I really... haven't thought about it. I love it, so I'm keeping it. I once thought briefly of donating it, but again, I love it and can't bear to part with it. So it's probably just going to sit forever unless a future daughter wants to use it.

Actually, I really want to get together with all my girlfriends and have a wedding dress party. LOL! Imagine, a group of women sitting around in their wedding dresses, watching chick flicks all night. LOL!

So dumb, but so awesome at the same time. :p

I never had mine cleaned /boxed and sealed. It was heavy cotton lace and ankle length so I was able to gently wash it myself and wore it for our 25 th . I finally gave it up but truthfully can't remember if it was to theatrical group or a resale shop . This was 12 years ago when I had to give up so many special things /

I had my wedding dress cleaned and preserved within a couple weeks of our wedding.

I would of course love it if our daughter (if we have one) used it or part of it in her wedding.

I want to comment on daughters using/wearing mom's dresses. My mom's dress is terribly dated, and I couldn't fit into it even if I wanted to, but it's special to me all the same. I'm taking a cuff off the sleeve to use as the wrap for my bouquet. Not much, but some, and the sentiment is there.

my sister wore my mother's wedding dress--and it was the most gorgeous dress she could have found. Some dresses stand the test of time (mine sure doesn't--but I would modify it easily!).

Yeah, there's no way I would have worn my mom's dress. She's 5" shorter than me, weighs more than I do, and got married in the early 80's. The dress would have looked horrible on me, no matter how many alterations were done!

Hers is in a box in the closet forever now, because neither my sister nor I had any interest in wearing it.
