Hi. I didn't know where to post my question, so I picked here. What city and or state is easy to have a dog kennel in? I'm sure I'll hear MO. Any other place besides MO??

Thanks.

I am not sure you are going to get a good response to that question.

Most people here don't want people to get into the "Kennel" business because there are already millions of homeless dogs.

If you mean "kennel" as in watching peoples dogs while on vacation then disregard my statement.

What exactly do yo mean by "Kennel"?

kennel as in you breed SHOW dogs, and have show champoins?
or kennel as you are a recreational breeder for profit?
or kennel as in watching others dog.

I did not post in the breeding section because I am not talking about breeding. I am interested in dog housing. What cities and states are not as strict about it. I do know the state of MO is the least interfering. I'd like to have an outdoor kennel for my dogs. I'm sure someone out there knows about this stuff. Maybe canine organizations.

Like a run for your dogs? OC_Spirit had a wonderful sticky around here somewhere on how to build a good one. as far as building regulations go, well, you're going to have to check with your city about that. Are you already in Missouri? Are you looking at moving?

where you post really doesn't make a difference since you said you had no idea where to post so you just picked here. if all you want to do is build a large run/kennel for your own dogs then that depends on if you rent or own, maybe rules in your town about building things in your yard. I don't see how we can really help with this question. You need to contact your city and figure it out. I am curious why you want to know what states let you build kennels in your yard since that obviously would depend on your individual city and what are you just going to move to whatever state lets you build one with out a lot of regulations? just seems like an odd question.

what is the reason for wanting to build one? I don't think we quite understand what your intentions are. You just want to build an outdoor enclosure for your dogs? How many dogs do you have?

My intention is to build a nice, safe, warm (winter), cool (summer) place for my dogs. A place that looks nice, but is also practical. We will be moving sometime and I am doing some research. the place we move needs to be cool about dogs. Another factor is employment opportunities.

I am totally serious asking these questions. I am not being smart.
Pics are thumbnails. If you click on them it should bring up a larger pic.

Are any of these an acceptable set up?

Thank you for your response. Anyone else? I am trying to get an idea of what is considered acceptable by the animal community.
