I think it's too muscular for a pointer. The face is also a bit too bully. But they are gorgeous! I love the look of this dog! (whatver it is!)

If it's pure, I have NO idea....lol

But if it is a mix, it looks like a Pointer/American Bulldog mix, or a Greyhound/American Bulldog mix

If it is a mix I'd have to agree it is mixed with some kind of greyhound/bully breed(american bulldog)

BUT, because there are two that almost look identical in structure, I'd imagine this to be some kind of rare breed. Very interesting.

their definetely one of the most unique dogs i've ever seen. Hound body but a hound on some serious steroids. Are they a mix or a specific breed?

My Chinese friend sent me these pictures. believe it or not, the first dog killed a 30kg wild boar within few minutes.
Well in that case, we should be looking up the dog breeds that are recognized in China as opposed to the AKC breeds, even if some overlap.

It could be a mix of two of the chinese recognized breeds that we, in the u.s., aren't farmilar with and that's why we are having a hard time identifying it.

He has to be a Dobie/ bully mix.
Look at the slenderness of his face in pic #1 and the length of the legs.
Also his muscular chest.
Finally his tenacity (he killed a boar in a few minutes) definately BULLY!

ToroDogo...How much does your boy weigh...He is adorable!!!

That dog is not pure bred.

Looks like a dog used for hunting. Boar hunting. Hunters will cross different breeds to create the best hunting dog. The breeds that I have seen used in this kind of breeding are pointers, bull terriers, dobes, pit bulls, rotties, deerhounds, cattle dogs, grey hounds, great danes, filas, dogos, and american bull dogs.

They're an Australian hunting dog called the 'Bull Arab' (named after the founding dogs Bull & Arab, the paper that advertised the litter made a typo and labeled them 'Bull Arab' pups instead of pups by Bull & Arab).

Those pictures are from an Australian site called Boardogs.com. Bull Arabs are not a breed but rather a particular mix breed used for pig hunting in Australia. They apparently make good pets too but the people breeding them aren't the most ethical breeders in the world.

What an unusual but good-looking dog!

Hehehe speaking of dogs that successfully hunt wild boar...would anyone believe that Shibas were bred to do just that? (And are successfully doing so in Japan even now?!)

I'll never forget the first time I went to my breeder's house and met an adorable little Shiba b!tch named "Peaches," who was a Japanese import. As I was making a fool out of myself baby-talking this dog, watching her smile back up at me, Leslie informed me that Peaches had a great deal of success hunting wild boar in Japan, hunting in groups as small as 3 other dogs.

And people who buy them from pet stores always wonder why they don't make great lapdogs? ;)
