Okay, so most of you know I'm thinking about getting another dog within the next few months-year timespan. I'm still undecided about what breed would work with me and my family. I was wondering if you could help a girl out :)

-Has to be low shedding/good w/allergies
-I'd like a dog I could run with
-I don't mind a dog that needs significant grooming
-Gets along w/my two other small dogs
-Will be happy with moderate exercise (two-three long walks a day plus outdoor playtime)

It could be the food their on, but it's crazy. Same for many pugs I know...though again, could very well be their diet.

Of course I am going to reccomend a poodle!

Really though, a poodle does seem to fit well with your lifestyle and current pets. I would be careful going too big... although it can work, you have to be very careful...even a dog like a cocker would weigh too much in comparison to your pets if they were to try and put them into their place.

Good Luck

It could be Zoom or it could be they are short haired dogs and they are going to shed more

But I know that Showpug could tell us if it is true about pugs though.

Thanks for the opinion guys! I love love love pugs and beagles and my future hubby REALLY wants a pug, but unfortunately they shed so much that automatically I can't breathe.

I hate that I'm limited by allergies, ugh

have you tried those endless allergy medications. doctors can prescribe a crap load, and you can get lots over the counter.
i basically live off of allergy meds.

Rabbits..

Right now I'm on ADVAIR for my asthma and Claritin for allergies. I have such strong allergy related asthma that if I was to get the wrong type of dog, I'd end up in the ER w/asthma problems.

Labs and Goldens are notorious for making me have an almost immediate asthma response.

I sometimes wonder what makes a dog able for me to tolerate and what doesn't. I'm allergic to dander as well as fur, and I know that no dog is truly hypo allergenic, since all breeds have dander.

Bentley has never bothered me a bit. When I got Emma I needed to take asthma meds though, possibly because I'm paranoid and don't want it to develop into something.

I hate allergies. They are evil.

I was also going to recommend a Portugese Water Dog, Bichon Frise, or some sort of Poodle.

Lizmo, Dachshunds aren't good for people with allergies most of the time. I'm allergic to dogs and react to 99% Dachshunds that I meet. In fact, most smooth or short coated breeds are not good for allergies for most people. I am just fine with moderately long coated dogs and dogs such as Poodles, but react to every smooth, short coated dog I encounter. If someone is severely allergic to animals, then I wouldn't suggest anything besides a so called "hypoallergenic" breed such as the ones I and others mentioned.

My parents have a beagle and she definitely sheds....quite a bit. I have a boston terrier and they don't have an undercoat so they shed pretty minimally.

Just want to add that Chihuahua's actually shed quite a bit too. Not an insane amount but I, personally, wouldn't recommend them to people with allergies. Others may disagree...but I know my guy is a terrible shedder (even with regular grooming)..I'm sitting here with half a dog's worth of hair stuck to my black top because I wanted to give him a hug. Hahahahaha! :p

when you say one that can run with you how far are you talking about? i run about 5 miles a day if not more and no pug or them little dogs a lot of people mentioned would i take doing that,

if you are going to run your dog i would recomend you either rescue an older around 2 year old dog, becuase you shoudn't run with a dog until the dog is 18 months old.

not sure if you like boxers but they make awsome running partners
