What attracted you to Chazhound in the first place?

I joined because I wanted to belong to a community of like minded people who for the most part, feel the same way I do about dogs and who had knowledge, advice and stories to share.

What attracted me in the first place? Oh, I could say I was seeking truth, knowledge and understanding (true), but I'm going to 'fess up to the main reason I got sucked into this place.....

I was above all just curious about the differences between the US and the Netherlands/Europe. How do people here feel about spaying/neutering, raw feeding, behavioral issues? etc. And that's how I found Chaz.

I join lots of forums, but loose interest with most. I stayed because of the people on Chaz.

I'm a long standing member on 2 other forums, and joined Chaz awhile back because I knew some people here. I recently decided I wanted to start posting because it is SO active. One forum that I'm on is a large variety of older people and really young people (not too many in the middle), and the other is mostly older people. I liked Chaz because it seems as if the middle age group is represented better here, and I feel like I'd fit in better.

Why did I get into forums in the first place? Completely by accident, in fact, I didn't even know what a forum was. But, I'm hooked and have made some wonderful friends.

My daughter's ( EliNHunter ) friend was an old time Chazer when she found this site looking for help for her dog Fergus , and recommended it to Amy when she needed help for her Golden Eli . She told me about it and I joined too .

When I got my puppy about 10 months ago I knew I needed to do something differently in raising her than I did with our other dog, so I started looking for a good forum for advice. I lucked out and found Chaz right away and never signed up for any other dog boards.

I know almost ZERO people with dogs...let alone are passionate about it...


IRL when I talk dogs I tend to know more about all aspects than the person I'm talking at (thats how it feels) Its nice to be around experts that know more... that I can sponge off of....


I also like being able to talk to people with the same ideals.

This is my way of getting it out of my system... so I don't pop.

I got a puppy. Which is mostly what prompted me to join a dog forum. Looking for information about training etc. This forum turned out to be fun, so I stayed.

I belonged to another web site that was for Golden retrievers and a category for other breeds. I joined this one because I could feature all dogs equally.

I stumbled upon it when I was 15. I had seen a show on TV about people training dogs for movies and was poking around on the net. That was 4 years ago and as corny as it sounds, it changed my life. I found my passion thanks to Chaz.

I don't know anyone that likes to talk dogs in real life so this is all good for me.

I, too, Googled and found Chaz. My previous forum started to charge money, so I went looking for a new forum.

I was 13 then. It's been three years, and I still haven't left!

I've come to like Chaz because you can get amazing, free, advice on just about anything! And I can talk "dog" all day long and no one gets bored.

I joined cause my friend Sizzledog said this was a cool board. I stayed because it IS a cool board!! I'm learning a lot from a lot of different viewpoints and tips about a lot of different things. I enjoy being able to come somewhere that animal lovers are EVERYWHERE! It helps to come talk to other people who have more than one pet. Lots of people off of Chaz insinuate I'm crazy for having more than one pet.

And I was already on a couple dog forums that were really slow and this looked like it got a lot of traffic.

Mocha was extremely picky as a baby when it comes to food (he still is!!) - I found Chaz when googled for the best dog foods ever made..

I stay, because ever since then I've learned so much more about dogs and how to provide the best possible care for them.
