I like Xena for a girl (my pup's name) :D

Ginger is a good dog name, as is Pete (not Peter), Jack (or Jackie for a girl), Sadie, Charlie. One of the puppy party families names all of their dogs for spices (sage, cinnamon, pepper, etc.)

How did Magic get in your female name list? I thought you just wanted human names. You should add Borris to your list!

Okay, i have a list of a few i want for the future
I don't really like people names for pets, I agree Buster is a very sterotypical name for a dog, but afer a few weeks of knowing him, the name had already picked him. There was nothing else.
Anyway, heres the list.

Heidi
Cedar
Miro
Magnum
Traffic
Echo
Holden
Elias (pronounced Ee-Lye)
Scholar

i'll think of some more. I have heaps in mind. My next dog will hopefully be a Koolie (Echo, Heidi or Cedar) and I am savign the name Miro for my greyhoudn when i get one

Do I ever understand that. Here I was trying to name Smudge, and I came up with 50 girl names I loved.. and took me months to even find a few boy names I could live with. The few I liked were ones I had heard on forums, or around and I didn't want to take someone else's name..
