We all love our dogs and our dogs loves. But how did your dog show you that he loves you! Since I had three dogs in my life, I have three stories to share with you.

From the first day I brought Apollo home to live with me, she immediately attached herself to me for the next eighteen years. Apollo showed her love to me almost from the beginning. When it was time to go to sleep, Apollo showed her affection for me in three different ways. First was when I would sleep on my back, Apollo would rest her head on top of my face. Second was that we would sleep back to back, with both of our heads together and on the pillow. Third was when I would sleep on my side, Apollo would rest her head alongside of my neck.

Dylan's way was unique on how he showed affection for me. Every time we would go for a ride, Dylan would sit as close as he could to me. I could tell by his body language and the way he sat, Dylan was looking and feeling very proud to be sitting alongside of me. Just thinking about this send chills up and down my spine.

For the four years I had Tramp, he would always lying by my feet on the bed. But for the past number of months when I would go to sleep, I would always pick Tramp up and position him so he would lay close to me. At first Tramp did not like what I was doing and would try to bite me on numerous occasions before he got the idea I wasn't trying to hurt him. Of course when I would fall asleep, Tramp would move back to the foot of the bed. Only in the last few weeks, Tramp showed how much he loves me. It first started when I would awake in the middle of the night, I would find that Tramp had moved from the foot of the bed to sleeping back to back the way Apollo use to sleep with me when I had her. Tramp's true affection for me is when I would wake up during the middle of the night. I would find Tramp, curled up in a ball, sleeping as close to my head as he could get. Every time this happens, I would give Tramp a kiss and go back to bed with a warm feeling inside of me.

I put Apollo's, Dylan's and Tramp's welfare ahead of mine. I gave up careers because of them and I don't regret it. It's a good thing I never married because I would have put my dog's interests ahead of my wife's. I also would not have had any children if there was the slightest chance I would have to get rid of Apollo, Dylan or Tramp. I have been diagnosed as being manic-depressive and I had a troubled life. If I had the chance start my life over again, I wouldn't change a thing. The love Apollo, Dylan and Tramp gave me has helped me make life well worth living.

Dogs are awesome huh?

Blue loved me all though my 'evidence' is, well it makes me sound crazy but anyways:
When it was time for him to be pts he let me know and so we were at the vets and while the rest of my family were petting him and talking to him him, I just hugged him. I couldn't get any words out so I sent thoughts out to him hoping he could understand, 'I love you Blue, I love.' over and over again. At some point my head felt a little funny and my chain of thought-words were stopped and I heard a strange voice say 'I love you'. It took only seconds for me to realize who it was and I continued on thinking 'I love you to'. I don't care if people think that I'm nuts (voices in my head now...) or that my mind made it up, I know it was real as the air I breathe is.

Other then that Blue, even when sick, would greet me everyday when I came home from school. When he wanted to be left alone while he was sick he only tolerated my being near him, anyone else he would growl at. This only happened a couple of times the day that he was pts but I am glad that he chose me to be the one to sit with when he hurt and the one that he told when it was time.
