Yup heard about it and just havent mentioned it until now  . Its a sad sad world we live in when people of power put time into banning dog breeds. Airn't there more important issues they could put their time to? I mean come on  . Im just glad I don't live there or i would be punching people in the face while i walked the happy pits lol. Sorry it just really gets under my skin. Those of you who live in Ontario and own Pitties I feel for ya and im so sorry society has gotten this bad that a dog breed is such a main concern.

To all the Pitbulls in the world im sorry this is happening to you. Most people just don't understand and never well and because of this you are forced to suffer. Thank goodness some of you have found homes to shelter you from this pain. And just hang in there your salvation will come someday.

Sorry like I said i feel very strongly about all of this.

I agree with you completely Love4Pits. It's sad that governments are at the point where they so blatently avoid the real problem and punish the innocents as coverup.

It is sad. Indianapolis has a Satuday afternoon radio show " Ask the Vet." which features one of our top vets as host ....I've heard him on countless shows state that Pitts are one of his most loveable patients. It's a shame what people have done to this breed. A lot of strays running through my yard are pitts or crosses. I don't dare try to "save" them as I can't trust them.....are they bred for fighting or guarding or sweet family dogs ??? Maybe if all dogs would have to pass a CGD test this would help.

Man, I can't believe that!!! This is just rediculous! I'm glad I don't live there, but I still feel for the people that do. I just hope that since it passed there, they don't try to spread it everywhere else.

It is spreading. It's pernicious in small communities where no one goes to city council meetings - and just try finding out when the meetings are being held or what's on the agenda ahead of time! White Pine banned Pit Bulls inside the city limits back in the 1970s. Governments are more and more obsessed with controlling the minutiae of our lives, and more and more people are willing - and even eager - to let this happen because they mistakenly believe it will make their lives "safer."

All I can say is if it spreads out to here I will be extremly angry and won't stand for it. i think this poem is very suiting.

A Dogs Soul
Every Dog Must have a soul somewhere deep inside
Where all his hurts and greivences are buried with his pride
Where is decides the good from the bad the wrong from the right
And where his judgement is carefully hidden from our sight

A Dog must have a secret place, where every thought abides
A sort of aquintance that he trusts in and confides

And when accused unjustly for himself, He cannot speak
Rebuked he finds within his soul, the comfort he must seek

He'll love tho' he is unloved, And He'll serve tho' badly used
And one kind word will whipe away the times he was abused

Altho' his heart may break in two,His love will still be whole
Because god gave to every dog an understanding soul

If only everyone could understand what dogs are all about. If we only took the time to love and train dogs properly. It's a very sad day today that the pits are banned. My stepson has a 7 month old pit that is coming over to play with our pets again today. He's the sweetest dog you'll ever meet. I've met so called sweet breeds that I wouldn't go near because of the owners upbringing of the dog. I've always loved pits and always will.

Do pit bull owners in Ontario actually have to get rid of their dogs?? What does this mean??
