I was taking one of my, thankfully non dog aggressive APBT, for a walk today and some kids were crowded around something , they were poking it with sticks and throwing rocks at it. It was a dog.
I told em to stop and that it was my dog. They said "No it isn't". I said "Oh yeah, well if you don't leave it alone I'll sic my dog on you" (My dog isn't HA but they don't know that:D) and they all scattered like flies,I walked over and picked her up and she was very excited to be out of that situation. Got her back to my house and she was very hungry and thirsty. All she wants is to be petted.

I would say she is some sort of mix. Chihuahua/Min Pin perhaps.
Found posters go up today and I will walk her around a bit see if I can find an owner. I'll wait about two weeks, spay her, start training her and looking for an adoptive home.

Nice kids you have in your area! Whatever mix she is, she's amazingly cute and probably has one of those "happy dog!" dispositions. Kudos to you for caring.

Bless your heart. I am so glad you got her out of that.

I would strongly suggest however never using your dog as a threat especially with children. I can see that backfiring big time.

Poor little grrrl! She's lucky you came by, too.

Rotten kids. Ugh. I just hope no parents come knocking at your door about your "threat," though.
She is so cute, I don't know how anyone could let her go or let her get loose.

The kids in the neighborhood I ended up in have NO parents, by that I mean their parents don't give two sh*ts about what there kids do. I have seen those same kids kill cats that way. I doubt anyone will show up.

They should be turned in then. IT's probably a sign of how they are being treated at home. WE have unwatched children here too by the bucket load but so far I ahve not seen any animal abusers. That's so sad.

I'll take it in to consideration. I didn't have much time to think about it, I was just worried about the dog getting beaten with sticks and rocks being dropped on her. Its not something I do all the time and the kids in that neighborhood don't have REAL parents anyway so I doubt anyone will do anything about it.

I taught in a tough school. We joked that some of our students had no parents and were being raised in the woods by wild animals. Obviously not true, though; they'd have had better manners.

id definatly start filing formal complaints...
theres actually direct corolation between animal abusers as kids turning into adults who do the same to people.

some of the most famous serial killers started out beating, torturing and killing animals...
(charles manso for example)
so definatly file complaints!

im so glad you found her and got her out of that situation. i hope either an owner whos truly worried aout her finds you...or that she finds an amazing home where shell be properly apreciated.

It's stuff like this that causes a dog to bite and if the dog had bitten back the dog would have been blamed and euthanized. Kids like that need to learn some respect for dogs and a good way for them to learn that would be to have them required to work at a shelter. Supervised of course.

Glad you stepped up and helped the dog out.
