In Trey's old age, he's gotten gradually skinnier and skinnier. The vet felt him and didn't say anything past it being old age. I was wanting to try to put some weight on him because now you can feel his ribs too easily and his spine and I'm worrying about him. I know he's 13 but I'd like to get him into better condition if possible. I'm really worried he won't be around much longer. :(

He's still eating a bit, and he's active for an old guy. Just having some trouble keeping the weight on. We've ALWAYS had trouble keeping weight on him, but it's worse now.

I'm having the same problem with one of the family dogs. Her teeth need some work too. Poor old dogs. We're just going to start trying canned food. Not much more we've found we could do.

i know when lady started getting old and loosing weight i fed her, her normal kibble and then added some chicken breast and broth with all of her meals. it got her to gain some of her weight back and keep it on until she passed.

You can try the wet dog food. They seem to gobble that up like crazy. I think that will help him put on some weight. I know you are worried but maybe have a talk with you vet again and voice how concerned you are about this.
