Well more technically my gramma's chihuahua had puppies on Sept. 11th starting around 3:30 in the morning. (I told her to keep her dogs separate, but what's done is done and it can't be taken back now.) So anyways, my gramma called for me to come downstairs as fast as I can at three in the morning and I went into emergency mode. I got to the bottom of the steps to find a puppy laying on the floor in front of her bedroom door (we had been thinking she had at least another week before puppies were due, we miscalculated somewhere). I got Peanut (the momma) and the puppy and brought them upstairs because it was too hectic downstairs with my gramma's other dogs, while John crated the girls. Withing a half an hour Peanut had another puppy, stillborn.
I finally got her calmed down and nursing puppy one, now named Libby but she was still having contractions on and off. About four hours later, puppy number two (named Freedom) made a dramatic entry into the world. He came breach and it took Peanut FOREVER to get his head out. However all ended well and we ended up with two fat, healthy puppies. And I learned a few things, first I do not envy breeders because that was one of the most stressful nights of my life. And two, my floor is very uncomfortable to sleep on.
Oh and I kind of think that at this point the puppies look more like hamsters, than well puppies. I'll let you guys be the judges on that though.

And FWIW, my gramma has one male and he was neutered (about a week too late according to when the puppies were born), so there is NO chance for any more accidents.
