Today we came home from doing our grocery shopping and the neighbor was out and asked if one of our dogs was dark brown. We said no but the house at the end has a dog that is all brown... but not really dark brown. we didn't see the dog so we weren't sure where he came from.
then Brian went out front to put together his tree stand. He came back in a few minutes later and said "Well I don't recognize that dog... took him to the house at the end but it's not their dog so I don't know who he belongs to" I said "Oh you saw him?" and he says "Yeah... he's hanging out in our garage right now" lol so I went to see if I recognized him but I've never seen him before and I've seen pretty much all the dogs in this neighborhood.
He looks like he might be a mix of a chocolate lab and some kind of pointer and he's VERY old. Gray all around the face and drooping eyes. but super friendly. I gave him some water and some kibble and he just laid on our garage floor until Brian was done putting his thing together. I went and got a leash and we loaded him into the car and Brian took him to the humane league. We felt bad because he is very old and we were afraid that he might not end up going up for adoption.
But the good news is when Brian got there the lady said she is certain that a call that came in this morning was for this dog. it was a little old lady that called in to report her dog had gone missing. So hopefully it is her dog and he has a happy ending. he was such a sweet dog and Brian said he really enjoyed the car ride out there too.
