Do yall allow your puppies to drink as much waster as they want when they want during the day while you're in the room with them? I have a 14 year old dog thats used to having that so i want to put it down for both of them.

Yes, we have water out for Zoe all the time. Even when she was a puppy. You just have to be aware of how much she drinks so you can take her out to pee.

My girlfriend's dog allways had water available all the time. He died recently at the age of 15 from respiratory problems. An Epanol Breton, i think that is how it's spelled. He loved to drink straight from the tap to because the water is fresher :) All the water he could get was never a proble, except he peed alot...:p

with a young pup it might be beneficial to limit water after 10 pm. Helps with sleeping through the night without having to pee :p

If you put water down for your 14 yr old dog your puppy will drink it anyway or try to if he can.

If you want to keep water down all day it wont do any harm but expect him to pee a lot.

It is a good idea to lift the water up at night as previously suggested.

Just a quick note to say - water drinking is a good measure of your dogs health. I find it a good idea to feed your dog water a pint at a time, when his bowl is empty give him another pint. This can be helpful because if you need to take the dog to the vet's one of the 1st questions is "are they drinking more or less than normal." If you follow this little tip you will roughly know how much water you dog drinks per day.

Hope this helps:)

Bonjour,

I have two dogs that share a water drinking bowl. I always make sure the bowl is filled with fresh water. As some have mentionned, I do not replenish the bowl after a certain time at night! :p

That's about it.

i don't see way that would be a problem as long as you are there if they need to go out more often

I leave water out 24/7 and I refresh it morning and night. For young pups that I'm housebreaking I keep the pup away after 9pm.
