The past few days we've been having an issue with Aubrey throwing up in the morning right after she eats. Normally I'd say it's because she's eating too fast, but the vomit looks to be bile, not half-digested food. She doesn't act like she feels ill or anything; she'll be rough-housing (or even just laying down)and all of a sudden..."bleugh".

Is this something I should be concerned about or is there some other reason behind speed eating behind it?

I'd be concerned if she ate but only threw up bile. The food goes into the stomach and that is what should come out if she vomits. I'd call the vet and ask. Maybe I'm overly alarmed but that doesn't sound quite right to me. Maybe she has worms. Eating fast and not chewing can cause them to throw up, especially getting excited, but I'd still run it by the vet. Maybe he'll suggest simply another food. Try to keep her quiet for an hour or two after eating.

Like Dober, I'd definitely be concerned with it only being bile fairly soon after she's eaten. I really would call and run it by the vet.

Speed eaters especially should be kept quiet for at least thirty minutes after eating

Yes that sounds abnormal. If she was throwing up bile BEFORE she ate that is one thing, but throwing up after eating and it only being bile? I'd be concerned if I was doing it let alone a dog. Call your vet asap please and keep up notified. That just seems so strange.

Yup....the more I think about it, the more concerned I am. Food in the stomach but only bile comes out. She may have something lodged in her esophogus or something wrong there. You'd think she'd show some other signs though. Do let us know how she is...what the vet says. Best wishes.
