It's so far reaching. I just got an email from MY university offering counseling services for our students here. I can't begin to imagine what the people are going through there...

We had one girl from my dorm murdered less than a month ago and it was such an awful tragedy. I can't imagine a mass murder like that. Unbelievable how evil humans can be.

ETA: I just wlaked downstairs and there were 5 armed police officers marching about our dorm. I feel safe! o_O

Oh so that's what that was about. I just got my computer working (it crashed yesterday), was happy that I finally was able to circumvent the hoops our university makes you jump through to get online, and was happy to be able to finally get back onto the internet on my own computer.

I'm not so happy any more and wish I'd just stayed off.

This makes me sick. How dare someone think they have the right to take another's life. I hope the families find their children safely and the ones that don't, I wish them peace...eventually. My heart aches for everyone involved.

Yeah. I just went downstairs to the commons C Store and there were 5 armed police officers down there patrolling. They're really stepping up the security here.

ugh, i heard about this when i walked into a local restaurant thingy to get some food during my study break...

i almost broke into tears just thinking about how many people are going to be affected by this...

i just cannot fathom how someone is capable of such a horrendous act. Why did he have to bring others into his stupid, pety domestic squabble (if thats what it was)...sorry, the world would have been much better off if he just shot himself.

This makes me so sick to my stomach...my heart goes out to all affected by this.

They showed a cell phone video some student took outside the building, you could hear the gun shots. It just broke my heart to know that every pop you heard meant someone had probably just died.

Yup. I was watching that same video and about half way I realized that and was thoroughly sickened afterwards.

Luckily, no one I know personally was killed. This is the worst massacre in US history I believe. I just don't understand.

I just watched the special Dateline about it. It brought tears to my eyes. It is soo sad and I feel so bad for all the students and their families. I can't imagine finding out there was a mass shooting where your child goes to school from seeing it on TV. They even said some of the students in the dorm in the floor above the first shooting found out about it through TV or internet. Our school is going to have a minute of silence tomorrow and ring the bells.

It's just so ridiculous, this whole thing. How could somebody massacre thirty-three people over a domestic altercation? Thirty-three is a whole hell of a lot of people.

There were bomb threats called in and police suspect he was testing the timing of response, etc. It is highly suspected that this was all planned out. Which is weird because the act itself seems so impulsive.

Although, like most of everything in this horrible ordeal, that's not completely clear.

Also, Virginia Tech after the first shootings were heard, sent e-mails out. E-mails. VTU didn't handle this as well as they could have. They may have opened themselves up to lawsuits.

The guy had to have some sort of history of unstable mental health - no one could snap impulsively and murder 33 people. This whole thing is crazy, and looking at it from a distance, it's also pretty ridiculous.
