I have 6 Tinfoil Barbs, two chinese algae eater and one parrot fish named Charlie. Charlie is my favorite fish. They say parrots are really skittish and hide all the time but Charlie is always out and about not scared of anything. He LOVES to eat. I feed him one by one pellet at a time because they tinfoil barbs would get all the food so I just stand there feeding him, lol.

Charlie even lets me pet him. I truly love this fish, he's great.

Charlie is beautiful as well as the other fish. I could watch them all day.

charlie is lovely, i LOVE seing big happy parrots in BIG tanks, people are forever sticking them in 30 gallons and they get dang huge...
ive always found parrots to be skittish when there not happy, so yours is very obviously VERY happy

Thanks Barb. I love to just ley in bed at night and watch them, especially Charlie. He’s very plump. Once he is fully grown I think he will be one big fish. I might have to many Tinfoil Barbs in there but if it starts to be over stocked my Aunt said she will take a few of them.

Oh yes, it’s very common for people to stick them in a 30 gallon. But personally I think they need a bigger tank. They get pretty big once fully grown. When ever I see parrots I see them hiding out in decoration or just flipping out and bashing into things. Even when I clean the tank Charlie will go up to the vacuum and help me clean the tank. He also lets me pet him when I clean the tank. That is very unusual for a parrot. But he’s happy so that makes me happy. I have lots of hiding spots but he prefers to be out and about.
